I sleep well!

Whatever is on my hip during the day sleeps on the nightstand beside me at night.

I also have an 870 in standby.

Sig p226 357 sig. My carry gun!

AR15 loaded with 45gr nosslers for some bad stuff.

Glock 30 with extended and tritium next to me, along wit a decoy, that is visible. Then another one opposite side. The way I see it if anyone gets in while you are asleep, the first place they are going to look is next to the bed if you are unfortunate enough not to awake soon enough. "my lab snores", "wife can sleep through a nuclear attack", just don't try to put any soft porn on. that can wake her from near death sceaming get that off. So if the dog is asleep, there are no porn stars breaking in, and my alarm fails, lol, I have two backups. I can never have a maid. Next will be a "spider man", "type net" that falls from the ceiling, with flash bangs. Also a jewlery box with an extra loaded mag for every gun in the house including the safe guns.
Never let it be said I haven't prepared since the last one in 79. They came in fast and there were 5. Caught us leaving in an apt in NY. No dog, no alarm, no backup, no plan. No good. Worse part of when my mom came to try living with us, she's 90, was trying to keep the envelope sealed, she just kept opening doors and walking around the house. Mom is back in NY now. I couldn't take it, the chime is hooked up to the alarm, and every 5 minutes, I thought someone was coming in. Try explaining this to a 90 yr old woman. Guests are told, when I am down, the alarm goes on, and no one can go out, or open a window or door, until we get up. My wife is up at 5:30. so it isn't a problem. I also give them a temp code, if it's my family. We aren't allowed rottis or pits here. So my lab got the job.

I used to sleep with all doors locked, chambered glock 22 next to my bed with 3 full mags, and my gun safe in my room open with 2 rem 870s (one modern tactical 18" one 50's wingmaster) loaded with 00 buck, tapco'd out SKS loaded and S&W 44 magnum fully loaded with speed loaders.

I was ready for war! my roommates didn't have guns and I wanted to be ready to arm them all if needed. I trained them with all the guns.

But I don't have most of those guns anymore, and when I moved I only brought my S&W model 60 with me, and bought a ruger p95. Workin on getting more mags for my p95 and some nice hollow points.

Right now I keep my house door and bedroom door dead bolted. Would probably grab my p95 w/ extra mag and have my .357 in a clip on holster for backup.

I live with my granny now, she has a .25 acp but she thinks shes too frail to use it. I think she should let me clean it up, chamber a round and put it loaded ready to go in a gun vault or something so all she would have to to do is type the code, grab it, aim and squeeze. Shes stubborn though, guess its up to me to hold down the fort!

Because I believe wishful thinking can change the world

A "NO ROBBERY / NO HOME INVASION" sign.

As backup, a prominently placed "gun free zone" placard and a "coexist" bumper sticker.

If that weren't enough, I have facebook and twitter to contact the local police instantly.

A smith model 66 with a 4" barrel and a Smith model 60 with laser sights (for the wife to use)

Whats your home defense weapon?

I have other guns available. I have a little 9mm on me at all times even when answering the door but my primary HD gun is a Benelli M2 Tactical Standard loaded with 00 Buck.

My chainsaw's usually locked up way out in the shed so, unless a "shed defense" situation arrises I won't be using that. Besides, my hockey mask is buried somewhere in the basement.

1st post here BTW.

870 tactical w/ surefire forend and single point sling

the neighbors here in cali wouldn't appreciate the AR rattling off in the night.

And, WELCOME ShroomFish!

12 gauge maverick, 4 federal 00 buck 12 pellets copper plated followed up by 2 brenneke KO slugs, assortment of 00 buck #4 buck and slugs on the gun, with light attached

.357 mag mod 66 6 shot taurus 6.5 inch barrel in night stand, 158 grain XTP hornady. Coleman max bubba flashlight on night stand so I can let there be light.

If it needs a little more reach or capacity there is an AK in the closet. It's loaded with hollow point wolf. 2 or 3 spare mags in there within easy reach (IE not in the box in the bottom back). It'd be a tough personal choice to use at night with no light on it tho.

Everything else is either in the cars or in the back room in the gun cabinet but everything stays loaded besides for great grandpa's single shot 16 gauge, which hasn't been fired in at least my lifetime (23) and most likely much longer. I suppose I really should have it checked out to see if its even safe to fire modern loads in just for the fun of it.

I guess I have my primary ones I'd consider but whatever I could grab quickest would have to make do, even if it was the mosin. I don't keep the bayonet on it tho after I accidentally poked the ceiling verifying the chamber was empty before.
