Marlin 336 vs Millk Jugs
The plan was to test a bunch of guns/calibers on milk jugs, the problem was the first shots we took were with 45-70 and the 38-55... 48 jugs in three shots...
A BIG surprise was what the Marlin 336 Cowboy in 35-55 did vs Milk Jugs. Here's the video.

Though I have yet to take a big critter with the 38-55 this test reenforced my confidence in the cartridge.

I'm guessing a critter would be somewhere in between though I doubt I'll ever recover one to know for sure...
