Who has ever been called for a poll?

Well, I just turned 50 (man that sounds OLD), and have never been polled. Anyone that I've ever asked this question to, has never been polled, nor do they know of anyone whose ever been polled. So what do these pollsters do, just keep calling the same numbers over and over?

    suggest a Finnish M39?

Just get the best condition that you can afford, regardless of the type. You won't be disappointed with any of them. I have a VKT, "B", Sako, and a "Sneak". They're all great shooters.

Gunsnet.com's C & R forums has alot of great info, and friendly and helpful members. For a list of distributors from that forum, go here: http://www.gunsnet.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=340 But I would also urge you to check out the other forums there for information about finds, bargains, tech...

Any rifles close to the price of a Yugo SKS?

If you're limiting yourself to semi-auto, with the reliability and price range of the SKS, then you're not going to find much worth buying other than another SKS. But I have six of them so I don't think there's anything wrong with that.

Aaargh! Now I have to buy .223 too!

An Armalite AR-15 for $625 in Maryland? Man, that's a heckuva find. What range were you shooting at? I might have to check that place out.

    Range report marlin 1894c

Congratulations on getting a fine rifle. I bought one a couple of years ago and sold it. It is the only gun I've ever regretted selling.

    01 FFL's a vanishing breed?

...(that's right, I'm on their 'secret' mailing list ;) ), and in it Dennis ended with this little message: member of a rapidly vanishing breed: * 1999 - 175,000 Federally licensed firearms dealers * * 2004 - 10,350 Federally licensed firearms dealers If those numbers are correct...

    Century Cetme vs. Century FAL

Like Feanaro said, the Cetme is a great rifle, if it works. I bought one that Century cobbled together. Unfortunately mine has one of the infamous ground bolts that Century saw fit to install. (Check out this forum: http://www.gunboards.com/forums/UltraBoard.cgi?action=Headlines&BID=30 for lots...

    sks trouble

If the the black button is sitting at the 12 o'clock position, it's set to use the grenade launcher and will not cycle the bolt. Push down on the button and rotate it to the right until it stops. It should cycle fine then.

What the heck is wrong with my SAR-1???

I actually bent my tool trying to get an SKS sight to move. Now I just soak in Kroil for a while before trying. No problems.

    Good Qual Nagants

The Finn M-39's are reputed to be the most accurate of all the Mosins. You can pick them up from Wholesale Guns and Ammo ( http://www.gunsnammo.com/ ).

    Ammunition, corrosive-style.

Cleaning up a bolt action after shooting corrosive ammo is no big deal. Using plain water, water/ammonia, Windex, etc., will all work. You just need to use something that will dissolve the salts. Here's a good article on how to do it: http://www.empirearms.com/clean.htm Shooting corrosive in...

    Age of "unissued" Yugo SKS

According to this site: http://users.cableaz.com/~mjbvrb/Survey%20Results.htm , Yugos were made from 1966 to 1989. Based on the info from this site, my three were made in 1970, 1975 and 1986.

Ammo Reco for Finn M39 Mosin?

Mosins can be pretty finicky when it comes to ammo. Some of my 39's love the Czech silvertip, but others don't perform well with it. I would advise purchasing small amounts of several types and trying them out in your riflles to see what they like best.

    milsurp ammo

Like everyone else has said, Hirtenberger and the Australian is the best out there in my experience. As for selling to someone under 21, Ammoman (http://www.ammoman.com/) has a policy whereas if they don't have your driver's license on file with them, then they must send the package "Adult...

    SA Garand - Stock Refinishing

I've had this same problem with tung oil on two occasions. The first time, I wasn't wiping off enough of the excess oil. The second time I think the oil I was using was just old. When I bought a new can, it went on and dried after 24 hours.

Need info on American Bulldog pistol

I found this pistol while helping to clean out my brothers house. He says that he's had it for years and had found it in the trash one day at work. He's never shot it, and after examining it, I don't think I would either. At least not until it was checked over by a smith. The only markings on...
