Glocked, I will agree with you that there is definitely a place for mods, even to a carry gun. My G34 is my HD gun, and it has all the extended controls and a Ghost 3.5. Some of the same things that make it good for competition, are the same things you want in a defensive situation imo. Some...
My G34 has the Ghost Rocket trigger in it. It is lighter and has much less over-travel than the stocker. The break and the reset (best part of the Safe-Action Trigger) are still nice and crisp.
My G34 shoots every bit as accurately as my Colt Combat Elite with it's Wilson trigger and tuned...
Great range/oc holster. I really like how the retention system puts your finger right along the frame after draw. Some will tell you it is dangerous...I don't see it. But YMMV. As has been said before, not very concealable, though.
Is it your only handgun, will you carry it, which M&P? Not enough info. If you paid $800 for your gun and he wants $100 more...$900 seems pretty steep for a used P226.
I got rid of my 226 because I had to use a different hold on it than on my glocks/1911s. Fine guns, but I'm not learning a new grip just to use one of my pistols. Plus the DA/SA bugged me. An SAO would be intriguing if I could reconcile it with my grip.
I wouldn't bother calling Colt, waste of time. When I brought my new Combat Elite home I was not happy with the fit and finish after a more thorough inspection. It also had a bum trigger. I called them and the girl on the phone was about as uninterested as a person gets. "Send it to us on...
I have an XSE Combat Elite. While it has been more accurate than my Kimber, its fit and finish left something to be desired (rattles when shaken, poor trigger fitting, other small stuff). Their CS sucks as well.
No reliability issues though (mine is post recall), and it sure is pretty...
PPS is smaller, you will carry it more. A small bit bigger on paper is a ton in real life. Just sold my PPS, sorry I did. My G26 is just not as "go anywhere" capable as the PPS was. Even in .40 the PPS has very little muzzle flip for a gun so small, so don't let recoil worry enter in to it...
Its true, now that you mention it, I cannot remember ever seeing a negative review in a gun mag.
I guess unless they go absolutely crazy over the gun you can assume it sucks.
Shooting distance with irons takes practice, and good eyesight. I still struggle with it. My fundamentals are good as well but I also struggle with maintaining a consistent sight picture at 100yd with the aperture sights on my ar. Practice, practice, practice.

Still too slow. I think there are a lot of people who do not want their gun locked up, (rendering it useless for self-defense) just inaccessible to a toddler or child who is too young to teach about gun safety. Something that just requires more strength than a child can muster would not be...
I think this is brilliant. If you could make it I would buy it now. While most guys on here can have their guns planted around the house for easy access, I have small children and that is NOT an option yet. Something like that would be great for my bedside gun. Once they are a bit older they...
:scrutiny: Whoa, ***. Maybe my principles just don't run as deep as yours but that seems like a bit much. I don't quite think this type of situation is the place to make your big stand against the government. While the cop was way off IMO and rights were trampled, I think in this case I'll...
I would imagine most of us have a whole different gun for summer carry. As we have a pretty short winter here (not this year) I usually carry a Walther PPS 9mm IWB. During the winter I have been carrying my Glock 34 (about same size as a 1911 except blockier) as it's no problem concealing it...
