50-50 Rimfire Match:

Looks like I'm not going to get a chance for more range time this month to see if I couldn't get a 5X'er myself. New Savage 93R17 magnum is not quite sure what it wants to eat yet as it's only got 3/4 of a box of shells through it. Typical Savage, 4 in the same hole and just to taunt you it flings one somewhere else. I'm still looking for some better glass than the BSA .22 scope I have on it temporarily.

Made it out to the range today and although it was windy it was still unbearable heat. I shot about ten of these today with an Ithaca single shot 22lr irons and my elbows resting on the bench. This was the best out of them all not quite 115 but close with a 113

Made it back out today and shot this for the Sporting Class
Mossberg 44 bolt action
Prone/Sling
Iron Sights
50yds
79 degrees 5-8 MPH wind
Darn Flyer:banghead:
Aquila Standard Velocity
I shot 4 targets and this was the best. Rifle hasnt ever shot this good before and probably never will again :)
I'll let you score it Mav

Looks like a 115 to me, Orlando. Not too shabby at all, and outstanding if you discount that one flyer.

:)

I would like to continue having a 100 yds iron sight division but we need a larger target with a black bull and white background. I think it would help alot

I managed to get out again and gave the Savage 93R17-TR a chance this time around...same, exact, result. I'm planning to head out of town for the next couple of days (may be as late as Friday before I return so the next match might start a day late) so I don't believe I will have another chance at this one so I may as well post the results:

the other issue i had with the target at 100 is it becomes a gray square at 100 yds.
At some point in the pre-printing process, I found a way to lighten up the brightness on these targets.
I have no computer skills, so I can't explain how to access that option,
but I think it helped, at 100, to have the small circular blob to shoot at instead of the big square one. :D.

There's been a lot of good shooting here this month, and with a wide variety of different rifles.
I haven't had as much time for shooting lately, (my work schedule has been hectic),,
but I can't think of a match that I've enjoyed more than this one.
Many thanks, Maverick, for conducting these matches!
You do well to stay on top of all the action here.
Great shootin!!

Thanks guys, I'll try to get another leaderboard update done before heading out this PM.

If you guys have any suggestions for new targets next month (probably go back to 25/50yds) send 'em my way. Particularly anything that is easy to see (for use with irons) but also has multiple engagements within the target to keep it challenging and interesting.

:)
