Ammo Shortage?

Where I buy my shells, at a gun club, there has been no shortages because of the crisis

My barometer of 'available' is local walmarts. Both have no shortage of shotgun shells...... pistol, .22lr and rifle (other than some hunting rounds for less common cals) are another story...

Plenty of shotguns shells available, even buckshot was available at least up until a couple of weeks ago when I last bought some.

Nothing cheap and 12ga. at any of the 3 Walmarts within a half-hour of me. Only ammo they have in quantity is 20ga. and .380ACP. I just shot trap today and I'm getting low!

Plenty of Shotgun shells on the shelves around here. 7 1/2-9 and slug/buck are easily obtained at the usual places.

Plenty of shotshells around here, though 12 ga lead shot hunting ammo is starting to get thin.

.22 LR is getting thin too.

my local Sportsman Warehouse has about 1/3 normal stock of steel 12ga and 20, nearly out of lead target shells in 12 and 20, very little .410, absolutely no 16 ga of any kind. Still a few boxes of buckshot in 12 and 20.

Only a couple 4 lb jugs of International Clays powder left, and some Vitavouri, only a smattering of projectiles left, only a few thousand Federal magnum primers.

It is a good thing that it is too bloody cold to go shooting right now. I've got some orders in at Sportsmans Guide. They expect to be back in stock mid March, just in time to go shooting. I can be patient that long.

Walmart near my house is totally out of buckshot and slugs, but has some birdshot. Gun store a few towns over still had a whole lot. Bought 15 rounds of Federal LE33-00 (I think thats the designation) flitecontrol for little over 5 dollars a box.

One local pawn shop near me has a lot of guns in stock, ammo, reloading stuff - and his store is empty. Meanwhile the overpriced Gander is crowded. Why? Because he jacked his prices up even higher than Gander.

Over 800 for a SA XD, $40 for a bag of reclaimed shot, $30 for a box of 380.......etc. Sooner or later, his prices will need to drop IF he wants to move his inventory

Plenty of birdshot available, last time I checked last week, but no buckshot or slugs on the shelves. No .22 rimfire or handgun ammo in any calibre at any of the local sporting goods stores, or Walmarts.

WalMart near me is totally out of ALL ammo, including all 12 gauge, with the exception of a few boxes of target/field loads of 20 gauge. Otherwise, the shelves are empty. Same at my local gunshops. All the common calibers are gone/sold.

No matter how bad the shortages of other rounds, there always seems to be plenty of shotgun shells available.

Cabela's has Rio Royal 9 pellet 00 buckshot for $3.99 for 5 rounds. I bought some and it not bad buckshot IMHO. The only issue is that shell is longer than 2 3/4" so for my semi-auto I can only load 5 instead of 6 rounds.

I want to paste s URL but is not working when I post a link.

Walmart near my house, the shelves practically empty except for few boxes of .380s, 12 g birdshots, 20 g birdshots. Empty as in nada

Wal-Mart near my house empty except for hunting rifle ammo and all shotgun ammo except 20 Gauge buck and slugs and 12 Gauge 3 and 3.5 inch magnums.

Just my .02,

3 boxes max

walmart just announced they are limiting ammo purchases to 3 boxes per visit. May be just a way of keeping people coming into the store. Once you're in there you're probably going to buy something else.
