Was there an official retraction, or did the signs just quietly come down one day?
To heck with the 30.06 sign. Nine dollar beer is enough reason to not go there for me - well - that and the fact that I'm in OKC.Cool. I bet some Alamo's are very close though. $9 for a small bottle of lager...
Now, my normal stance on this was, the sign was very, very, tiny too tiny in fact for these old eyes to see. Seeing that the required size by Texas law is 1" or larger and would take up almost and entire full sized door, I could never actually "see" a "legal" posting that I am required by law to notice before entering an establishment.
This is what I always assumed, but it is not correct. A legal sign will fit on an 8.5" v 11" regular sheet of paper. It won't take practically the whole door. I have started to look much harder now.
I was actually a bit insulted to see this. Getting a concealed handgun license involves fingerprinting, background checks and a mandatory ten-hour training class with a licensed instructor.
BTW, only law-abiding citizens will honor a no-handgun sign. Criminals will not.
Some people get a CHL and then feel like they are somehow special in that they should not have to encounter the laws/restriction specifically denoted during the whole CHL education and testing process.
