The one property room weapon I received all those years ago that made me want to cry was a fine old L.C. Smith double 12ga that some idiot had stolen and converted into a robbery popper - pistol grip (what was left of a gorgeous old walnut stock) and the barrels sawed off down to about 10" long...
Someone took a valuable high end old shotgun and just butchered it. I'll bet anyone that actually fired it -would never do it twice... It was meant to be a close up armed robbery surprise where the victim, behind a store counter, realized that it was being pointed at him from about two feet away... Funny thing - at about the same time we had a different robbery caught on camera (where else... in a camera and video store at the height of the Christmas rush...). The store was full of customers and the only one that saw the sawed off was the poor clerk - and it was all caught on camera... Fortunately the poor clerk didn't get hysterical until after the robber exited the store....
In spite having him on video - we never found him either....
