Buyers market..?

Firearms, especially quality antique ones (pre 1899) or near antique ones (generally pre WWI or before) as well as much of the pre plastic/pre black production, in general, will increasingly become a buyer's market, with a few exceptions for rarity and high condition. It has to. Simple supply and demand. Increased development means less outdoor pursuits, those outdoor pursuits less likely to involve a firearm, most young folks have no regard for history or even what this country stands for (51% embrace socialism), and as many are a product of a very anti firearm higher education system, it's amazing any might have an interest in firearms at all. Even 35 years ago when I attended public middle and high school (not even higher education and decades prior to the present) it was rare to find classmates and instructors who knew anything about firearms and some were vehemently against them. It's amazing anyone under 70 is even interested in firearms at all given the environment prevalent then, and worse now.

Very sad.

Socialism doesn’t mean what you obviously think it does. And where do you get the 51%? Bizarre.

I was implying that the interests of the younger individuals in this country differ from that of their forefathers. And they do. This country was built upon hard labour, the use of a firearm for defense and survival, and capitalism. A recent news story stated that 51% of the youth of this country are at least open to socialist ideas. These are not really how this country came about, and have little to do with the strong willed independence compatible with firearms ownership and the second amendment.

And there's no way you can argue that social media and I phones are by far and away of greater interest to most youth in this country as opposed to firearms.

Try selling a home to the younger folks these days. Not fun. I was pleased to have a roof over my head, that's the way it was starting out. No great expectations. These folks expect to start out with all the luxuries their parents took a generation or more to have. It's a different world out there. This different world is much less firearms friendly....

Is it impossible for you to show the respect due to a president of the United States? How does your resume stack up to his?

I’m still employed after my service time and only 3 years until retirement. So I am going with pretty descent by your definition. Just like the military taught us, you respect the rank not the man.

Going by the last gun show I went to guns are a rare and valuable commodity and priced as such. I saw $300 Hi-Points not to mention $1000 plus pre lock S&W revolvers.

What else would you call them? Socialists, progressives, treasonous thieves? You call it. No support and defend the constitution in them.
They defend the Constitution as they uunderstand it, same as you but different. Thing is there are many things you could call them that are fair, true, and even complimentary just as I can do with traditional Republicans like Bob Corker and Paul Ryan. But you search for a falsehood that puts them in a bad light. It isn’t a necessity of who they are. It is a necessity of who you are.

Glad to hear what you say on both counts.

I call them Statists. All of them. The parties differ in detail on how they want to run the country but as Daniel Webster said:
"There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters."

As to local gun dealers, there is one modern (coming up on 3rd year of operation) store/range here with generally congenial staff. I have bought two guns from stock there, not because they were cheap but because I could see them in person, even shoot something similar from their rental shelf.
I have ordered one second hand gun off Gunbroker for delivery and registration there. The seller was apparently an independent store far away, not a distributor. I get four "free" transfers per year as part of my range "membership."

There is a hole in the wall shop that is a branch operation of a larger store across the state line. Staff there seemed grumpy the few times I was in, although I have sent them a couple of customers when I saw something I knew was being sought after.

There is a "warehouse of tacticality" that I visited because they were listed as dealers for a new gun I was interested in. The guy on duty had never heard of it.

There is another place down the road a ways that I have not been to yet, but plan to visit because I know a guy who works there part time. Problem is, I have been down that road several times and not been able to pick out the location.
