Back in 2014, I posted about carrying a Doc Holliday Special in 45 Colt..a 3 1/2 in barrel for SD. Got a Lot of replies..some in favor..some derisive. Just want everyone to know that I've got plenty of Semi Autos in large caliber from 380 to 45 acp for faster reloads and such! Have 26 handguns! ( Yep my signifigant other knows about all of them!). But I still love my SAs! Decided though, that the SA 3 1/2 in barrel Doc Holliday 45 Colt was a bit much to carry comfortably! So my latest carry option is a NAA Black Widow in 22 Mag with a Bond Arms Derringer currently in 44 Special, (but with extra barrels for 45/410, 45 acp, 357/38 etc!) I just like Single Actions! Just can't help myself! Good Lord! Still....I know there will be flames for posting such a preference! Just the way it is!
Anyway, The Bond Arms 44 Special is gripped in Ivory, (well...a pretty darn good Ivory look alike), and just appeals to me! Sure.. it's only two shots..but they are fairly large ones..and I can switch calibers anytime I like! Besides.. the BW, gives me 5 shots of 22 Mag, so I'm probably better armed than most of the population and have a bit of experience in armed confrontations! I've actually been in a gunfight or two...and I''m still around to talk about it! I'm a retired Deputy Sheriff with over 35 years of experience, and though many Semi-Autos hold more rounds and are quicker to reload...I'm still a big fan of Single Actions! Heck...I have a special love for the old Breaktops too!

Is there a question in there or not? IMO everyone has the right to carry what they like no matter what I think. I get flack for carrying a J frame revolver in .38 Special. I carry it anyway. I'm not sure I would carry a Derringer as a primary SD handgun because it's very heavy for what you get.

No.. no question really! Just like posting my photos and throwing things out there to see who wants to comment! And all replies are welcomed! After all..everyone has an opinion and everyone approaches things from their own experiences and viewpoint, and thats the way it should be!

A nice pair of single actions you have there.
Thanks chicharrones!
Got a bunch more too! Had to change photos of the Bond Arms in my original post. First one was an internet photo. The revised post shows my actual firearm. Sorry about that!

I am half way to your choices. I always have a 22 mag BW with me and sometimes a 44 DA. The Bond Arms is an interesting choice and one I would like to own.

I just wanted to be sure I didn't miss anything. I can be dense some times LOL. I like the grips on you Derringer. They make it look older but for the trigger guard. How is the trigger on it?

Who am I to question someone else's choice of carry gun? I have a certain fondness for single-actions and top-breaks myself...

While neither gun you have as listed would be my carry choice I can well understand your preference for single actions handguns. Like the Bond Arms derringer in .44 Special; one of my favorite cartridges in a single action revolver.

Know the feeling! I'm dense All the time! The trigger gaurd is removeable. As for the trigger, it's an easy pull. You just have to remember that the pull is back and down, as that is the way these are designed. Those that complain about the trigger pull, are either unaware of this or resting the web of their thumb against the back of the hammer, and that will make the trigger pull just about impossible!
Glad you like the grips. They were $135 though!
