Carrying Into Other People's Homes

This thread IS giving the antis a lot of fodder for arguments.

Rightly so.

( some not reading a post completely, before barking BS back, doesnt help)

Mp7, you know we are always going to have a contaversial discussion whenever a topic as openended as this comes up. I used to say that a lot, like asked and asnwered kind of stuff. But now there is so much crap going on out in netland that I don't think our little oasis of gun discussion is going to push public opinion one way or the other, other than hitting a pole that's a pro gun sensible pole.
We aren't going to convince the anti's of anything, "it's a state of mind", that includes a whole different mentality than most of us have.
I mean we have people here who are Hero's, guys and gals who risk their lives on a daily basis to protect our rights and freedoms so that we can say what we want to say without worrying about a black sedan pulling up and never being heard from again. I respect your thoughts, I think you are a great cotributer here and agree with most of your input. But we need to vent with some of this nonsense, and if not here, then where?
There are definatelly "bait posts" that go up here, and with those we should maybe just put an asked and answered , or "try the search" answer on them. Or even "attempt at entrapment", but sometimes the ball just starts rolling too fast, or we just can't stop ourselves or believe that some questions are even asked other than to do exactlly what you infered. Even a warning like this is a baited post don't bother with it, and just put your name after, or the word entrapment or biased post.

Great question

I own a computer repair business and both myself and the former other owner carry. I make a lot of house calls and once in a while end up at a house with a pit bull. I'm not looking to get into the pit bull debate, but find myself packing when returning back to that customer's house.

It's nice to hear what other people are doing. Sure I ask that the dog be put into another room, but that may not always work for many reasons. :)

While i see good arguements from both sides i somewhat feel that what i carry on my person is my business where ever i am.

What reallly bothers me about this thread though is the number of people saying "i'm not" or "would not" be friends with a person with different politics or other views. Its a shame that we've let politicians and campaign managers so effectively use wedge issues to divide americans and polarize the country.

When I get to the door of a house and:

a.) there's a sign at the door "No guns", ... I'll either return to my car and lock my pistol in the gun safe, or return to my car and drive away.

b.) there's no sign at the door but the owner opens the door and says "you cannot enter this house with a gun", ... I'll either return to my car and lock my pistol in the gun safe, or return to my car and drive away.

c.) the owner opens the door and says "Come in", ... I'll go in.

In a, b or c, I don't need to say a word ...
Seems pretty simple to me.
