QUOTE "The lack of foresight here is simply mindboggling.
For my Springfield 1911, 8+1 and a reload, minimum. Four or five spare mags in the truck."
Vanilla, What foresight? Forty nine rounds is a lot of offensive shooting. My purpose in carrying is defensive...get me away from a bad situation, not linger and reload. Maybe lifestyle and location have a lot to do with a CCW reload requirement, but ordinary civilian, go to work, go to church, spend a day at the park types shouldn't ever need that much fire power. I can't recall hearing of a shootout of such magnitude. Probably, I would guess, 99% of all civilian gun altercations involve just a few rounds. That would be a very interesting study to compile from crime reports.
Forgot to answer the original question...one mag,one in the chamber, seven rounds.
