They won 52-47. Looks like both of the Maine senators sold us out. Along with them and Kerry + Edwards we lost.

Moparmike,
Edwards voted Aye. Some proponent of the 2nd he is.
He's apparently decided that he wants a Second chance at private life, come November. North Carolinians will remember, as will the rest of America. He's gonna lose the support of his home state just like Al Gore (yeah, I know there are primaries first). Looks like it'll be Ketchup Kerry (slogan: "giving duck hunters a bad name since 1969") that loses to President Bush this fall.

BASTARDS! So what's the next course of action? Stripping it when it goes down to the other house? Or does the entire bill get killed?

When does the gun show loophole come up?

Never mind, lets hope we win this one so barganing later in the conference comittee will be easier.

OK folks, Now we have our marching orders. Phone calls, faxes, emails, letters, the works! Now we know where our senators stand its time to show them how "real americans" feel about thier votes.

Not time to panic yet.

Yes, it is BAD that we just lost this. But there is something VERY GOOD here: a recorded vote.

We now know exactly WHO is a Constitutional American and who isn't. Anyone who just voted FOR this amendment can now claim that they "support the Second Amendment" until the end of time, but we will know the truth.

It will be axed in the House. This just means that the Gunmaker's Liability bill might not become law now because the Senate will probably shoot down the "clean" bill when it comes back to the Senate for the up or down vote.

AGAIN, I can't stress this enough, WE NOW HAVE A SECOND AMENDMENT VOTE ON RECORD. Plan your future political actions accordingly.

Stripping it when it goes down to the other house? Or does the entire bill get killed?
Some say it's better to have the whole bill pass (even with the AWB attachment) and hope that it gets stripped out when it goes back to the house, but I personally would like to see it die now. Yeah, lawsuit protection is important but sending it on just increases the chance that the AWB will actually be renewed.

If the bill gets passed now (not clean), where does it go? To committee? They can strip parts of it out, right?

BTW. Graham from Florida is retiring, so we don't have to worry about him anymore.

Where can I find the count so I know if my Senators did right by me?

Thanks,

Zmeja

S.1805 is now a dead bill, the House will never aprove it with the AWB attached. (This what I'm telling myself just to keep sane)

So what's the next course of action? Stripping it when it goes down to the other house? Or does the entire bill get killed?

Please urge your Senators to kill this bill. Remind them that a vote for this bill as it stands right now IS a vote for AWB extension, regardless of how they voted with regards to the amendment. KILL THIS BILL!!! The antis won in the Senate, and they could in the House as well. It's not worth the gamble. KILL THE BILL NOW!!!

Well, I hope the whole bill fails now...courts have been tossin those frivilous suits out anyway. Too mad to watch anymore, Feinstein is evil:evil: :fire:

I just called Bush's comment line and left a message saying the Republican party is -><- close to losing my support forever. The republicans voting in favor of extending the ban make me sick.

If this trash some how makes it into law I'm seriously just thinking of disregarding it, and the NFA of 34 as well. :cuss:

I think it's time to strongly encourage your senators to put this entire bill in a shallow grave. :fire:
