As a Florida resident since 1989 ( almost makes me a native ) I have done the Theme Park routine many times, and through personal choice have always been armed just in case "Mickey or Minnie go Postal" I believe in the Maxim, CONCEALED MEANS CONCEALED, and carry accordingly. I wholeheartedly concur with those of us who raise concerns about discharging a firearm in a crowded venue like Disneyworld, however basic gunhandling rule # 1 or maybe 2,3,or 4 (whatever) covers that nicely. "Know your target when you pull the trigger." Rest assured you will be held accountable for every round you discharge. This is also answered with another saying, Better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6.
There are any number of locations in our theme parks where IMO it is not safe to be unarmed. The parking lots are patrolled but not often enough to guarantee immunity from the occasional Miugger,Robber or Rapist, and if memory serves me correctly, there have been several assaults in Mickeys Kingdom.
I agree that RKBA affirms my decision to accept responsibility for the safety of my family since the Police have no duty to do so, and I support others right to do likewise. As a retired LEO, I have a few concerns over some of the attitudes taken towards the discharge of their CC weapons when and if the SHTF. Some comments sound like the Orater fully expects to engage the enemy at any time.
If I were going to worry about unsafe situations while visiting WDW, I would be much more concerned with fueling up at the local Stop and Rob in the areas adjacent to the Theme Parks as they are not the choicest of locations, and are not inhabited by Saints.
One final comment directed at those who choose to denegrate my adopted State with its shortcomings, Slow drivers, crowded roadways, high prices at the Theme Parks, etc. As I watched the Weather tonight and cussed under my breath when the local corcast was for highs to be in the 50s, (Too Damn Cold) I chuckeled when I heard the forcast for "UP NORTH" where the temps. would not reach 0 for a high, and I remembered why I moved to Florida. To those who don't like it here, I 95 runs North as well as South so don't let the door hit you in the a** on the way out.
