I really wonder about the legalities of signs that say "No guns allowed." I have a feeling there are state laws covering that, but I'm ignorant of what it is (I live in Florida). I always ignore the signs and carry anyway unless it's stated in the concealed weapon carry laws that you can't carry (bars, sporting events, state and federal buildings, etc). Maybe a Florida lawyer will comment. In my ignorant and maybe wrong opinion, I have a right to carry by law. If a company is open to serve the public, they cannot override the state or federal law. It would be like asking me to leave because of my skin color. They are open to the public, they have to serve all unless a law is being broken ("no shirt, no shoes, no service" as posted in places to eat). If it's a business not open to serve the public, that's different. Glad to hear you can carry at Wally World in Florida. Ordinary people carrying concealed weapons is the best defense against a nut who starts a shooting spree from killing lots of people.

Allan, I would like to politely correct you on one point, since it falls within my area of knowledge:
There is NO LAW or health department requirement (or anything else) requiring patrons to wear shoes or shirts in eating establishments or any other business.
This is a commonly believed
myth, which unfortunately has a detrimental effect on those of us who choose, as a lifestyle, comfort, and health issue to be barefoot much of the time. I have come across a website for the Society for Barefoot Living
www.barefooters.org that does a lot to dispel many myths about going barefoot. They have solicited replies from the health departments of all 50 states (plus territories, I think), and not one has responded with anything but words to the effect of "there is no law against bare feet." The site lays out why this is not unreasonable.
Now, as regards guns on Disney property, there are still stores in Florida that post "no guns" on signs. I know that The Sports Authority did, and probably still does. I have never failed to carry when going there, because of the absurdity of the notion that barring licensed CCW holders from having guns there makes anyone safer. What I have come to know is that although they may have a rule against guns, there is no penalty at law for breaking their
rule, unless you are found to have a gun there, asked to leave, and then refuse to. That becomes trespassing. If a cop shows up and in his presence you are asked to leave and you won't, he'll get you on that. But as far as I know, not on any firearms crime. (Although, I have to wonder if that would be "armed trespass" or something?)
Some people have posted that Disney would ask you to put your gun in your car, or in a locker. WHAT?! PLEASE tell me that no one here would DO that! First, there's the chance of you having your gun stolen! Second, WE NEED TO TELL THEM, WITH OUR BOYCOTTED DOLLARS, THAT WE DEMAND OUR RIGHTS BE RESPECTED. Putting the gun in the car tells them that we're kowtowing to their anti-gun-rights policy. Walking away even though it "ruins" our vacation sends a clear, strong message to management, that we won't be abused without repercussions.
