Do you like your .45 acp?

IMO, the best CCW .45 firearm is the Glock 36. I spent many months researching the various compacts in .45 and the Glock won me over. Low bore axis, legendary reliability, easy to strip and clean, manageable recoil, lightweight, easily concealable. Easy choice for me.

A new Colt Commander 45 or a new slimmer grip G21...the new SS Colt comes with a full length guide rod and combat sights....the Glock needs Heine wide notch straight eights for me....(eyes too myoptic, need a wider notch)...

I've got a Ruger P345 as my .45ACP. I do like it, it's very reliable, feels, shoots and looks nice. To be honest, I don't shoot it much because I don't want to buy the ammo, and I would rather practice with my carry guns. I kinda have it as my "always" gun. It's always clean, oiled, loaded and ready. My Taurus, Walther and AR go to the range with me every time I go. And I shoot them a lot. I bring the Ruger too and keep it loaded and within reach, even if it's not going to be shot that day. Same with when I am cleaning all of the guns I shot. Out comes the Ruger, just waiting, in case God forbid, the unlikely chance of something going down when the rest of my small collection is in pieces soaking in solvent.

So I like the P345 a lot. Not as a gun that a blast to shoot, but as a gun that I trust enough to always be there, even when my more popular guns are down for service.

YES! I like my Ruger 345!! The grip sold the gun. Put your hand(s) on one before you choose. I think the trigger feels awfully good "out of the box" too! Trijicon sights, available from Ruger, make it useful in dim situations.

I also own two other .45s: S&W 625 and H&K P9S. Both are extraordinary guns in their own way. Son #1 "stole" my Springfield M1911A1 (basic, no frills, but a good value) a few years ago.

Love my 1918 M-1911

When my Dad gave me the M-1911 she was a paperweight so I rebuilt her. Six months ago my local smith www.delvallegunsmithing.com did a total overhaul and the flat black matt finish. I have had many guns come on go but the Colt has always been my baby.

.45ACP?

My favorite centerfire handgun cartridge for self defense AND for fun and plinking duties! VERY accurate too!

Why confine it to just a bottom feeder either . . . when those S&W N frame .45ACP revolvers are SO DANGED GOOD . . . AND ACCURATE!

I strongly favor my Ruger KP345DPR.

It is about the same size and weight as the Light Weight Colt Commander - a very handy pistol. The DA/SA firing system does away with the cocked and locked status of 1911s that has always made me just a bit nervous. It eats any and all ammo, is very accurate, and totally reliable.

The combination of polymer and stainless make corrosion a non-issue. It is built solid enough to last a lifetime, and it fits my hand which has always felt comfortable with the 1911s.

Since mine is a decock only model, and since the decock lever springs back to the ready to go position after safely dropping the hammer, it is as safe as a double-action revolver and just as quick to bring into action.
