I came to the gun culture a little late in life.
I mean, I shot .22s in boyscout camp. And having been shot at point blank range in my shoulder and neck when I was 14yrs old, I was in no hurry to involve myself with firearms.
Approaching 9/11, before it anyways, I sensed a change coming over myself with regards to self-defense, defense of loved ones and my views of freedom as an American, I realized I wanted a defensive firearm.
SO I guess I passed the .22 ideology that a lot of gun owners get to experience.
To me, kind of a useless caliber for what I am looking for. Maybe if I ever get to move back to a nice private piece of land in the sticks again, I will get one.
