Ruger 10/22's gotta be my favorite, I like it so much I bought a second one and converted it with a Krinker Plinker kit from Krinkerplinker.com

Cooey

I have an old Cooey single shot that still shoot straight also have a CIL-Anschutz 167 bought for $100

I was fortunate to trade a 10/22 (hated the trigger) and $100 for a Remington 541S about 30 years ago.

It's not a very good picture, but this is my favorite rimfire. A Winchester model 69A Target. This was my father's rabbit gun when he was a kid. The checkering on the stock was done by my grandfather one cold winter in the '50s.

Mine's a little different.

Ballard made Winchester 1885 Low-Wall "Special Sporting":

Exhibition grade wood, hand checkering
Double set triggers
MVA Schuetzen Soule Rear Sight, MVA Winchester front
30" #1 air-gauged Douglas barrel.

I had it made to replicate my black powder cartridge silhouette rifles for off-hand practice. Positively my favorite rifle, and the one that gets shot the most.

My favorite rimfire would be my vintage Winchester model 63 that started off as my grandpa's, then my dad's, and has finally found it's way to me. I couldn't tell you the number of squirrels and tin cans that thing has slain, and it still shoots like a dream.

My favorite is a Remington Nylon 66 in mohawk brown. It brings back good memories of my teenage years,

Nice walnut, blued steel everywhere, accurate as heck and a great trigger. It is my favorite gun, not just my favorite .22 or favorite rifle.

Let me see, I have:

  • Marlin 28Y -- a single shot kid's rifle (that really belongs to my younger daughter.)
  • Winchester 9422 (that belongs to my older daughter -- and she took it with her when she got married.)
  • Stevens #26 Crackshot -- single shot, made about 1915.
  • Stevens Favorite -- made about 1895
  • Springfield M1922, MKII
  • Remington 541X (DCM rifle)
  • Kimber M82

The last one is my "go-to" rifle and has killed a boxcar load of squirrels. It mounts a 4X Burris mini-scope.

For honorable mention, I ought to include my Ruger 77/22M in .22 WMR(with a 3X9 Burris mini-scope) and my Kimber M82 in .22 Hornet (with a Weaver K6 steel scope.)

My 22 Ruger Single-Six I bought new in the early 1990's. Stainless steel, 6" barrell, walnut grips. Beautiful! My son and I had a lot of fun at the range target shooting with this one when he was a youngster. Great memories! :)

Favorite rifle- Taurus pump in 17 HMR- EVERYBODY loves to shoot that gun. Its great fun and surprisingly accurate.
Favorite handgun- Single Six in 17 HMR, same as above.

Generally speaking I really like 17 HMR, although my 10/22 was my first gun, so it will always be special. I also taught both of my daughters to shoot with the 10/22.

Appearance and sentimental-wise, my J.C. Higgins .22lr that I inherited from my dad, which he got for his 13th birthday I'm told, and did the checkering and white spacer himself, is my favorite (really accurate too). However, practicality-wise, I really love my (was also dad's) Marlin 25MN .22 magnum.Very accurate out to 150 yds, comfortable and fun to shoot, and has that extra ooomph a .22lr just doesnt have for making easy, clean kills on small game without destroying the meat, or having to pick tons of lead shoy out of the meat or destroying the hide.

I've got several to pick from and, of them, I picked two runner-ups: a Winchester Model 67 that I got from my dad at age 14 in 1957 (it goes to my oldest grandson when he's ready) and a Marlin 39 (it'll go in my coffin!). The winner is my Steyr Zephyr mannlicher, a well-made, accurate little .22 (one of two .22 rifles that I have that wears a scope) that is my favorite squirrel/woods rifle.
