Grab and go gun

Does anyone else use what I call a “grab and go” gun? Specifically, a pocket pistol of marginal caliber for those short tasks, like walking dog, grabbing milk, etc. I have 3 guns that fill those niche and I’m curious what people thought of my options. They are a NAA .22 magnum, a .22 Beretta Bobcat and a Astra Cub in .25.

Before people start telling me to carry at least a .380, I’ll say that I own 2 .380 pocket pistols and I hate shooting them, so they don’t make it into my carry rotation. I also have a couple subcompact 9mms that I use for CCW most of the time.

Any gun I own that has a Sticky holster is a "grab and go" gun to me.

I also have an LCR and G42, but I consider those backup guns.

Nope. I just wear the same gun I always do, all day every day, a Glock 17.

I do have another 17, and a few others, in their own El Paso Tanker holsters, that would qualify as "grab and go" for special needs though.

Grab-and-go or business as usual, there's always a Glock 42 in my FR pocket.

I have a Beretta 950 that I wore during my pizza delivery days, since we had to wear a uniform that wouldn't hide squat. I called it my nose gun, since I figured that's about it's effective range.

Haven't taken it out of the safe in years. Not a big fan of carrying a gun like that unless I have no other options.

NAA .22LR in a kydex neck cord holster, an LCP in a pocket, or a Sig 238 in a Desantis thumb break metal clip belt holster depending on where I'm headed.

LCP II would qualify as grab and go for me, but I find it just as quick to IWB my G48.

I carry at home so my "grab and go" gun is a Glock 26. On the rare occasion that I'm not carrying the Glock 26 I'm carrying a Ruger LC9.

Instead of “grab and go” I put them in the “dead and gone” class. Guns such as these give a false sense of security. Why is your life worth less when walking your dog as for when you go to town for shopping?

Likewise. I don't do such things. If I am going to be armed, I just go armed. When I can't be, I lock it up in the car until I come back out.

Never thought of the concept quite in that way. Your view is interesting. I collect and love pocket pistols, but I wear them either as backups or on days in very hot weather in situations where I can't wear many clothes, and I'll be under a degree of scrutiny. If I'm stepping into Walmart with my shirttail out, it's nobody business why. If somebody bothers to suspect the shirttail conceals a heavy belt gun, I wouldn't particularly care. At a party or a business meeting, the standard for concealment might be a bit higher, leaving me to the smaller gun.

The curious thing is that as much as I love the little dinky pistols and revolvers I don't consider them either convenient or comfortable. Comfort is something big, that's close.

Take last night after midnight, I wanted to go outside to check the temperature in my outdoor stove. I didn't bother with trousers with a belt. Lighter would have been any little pocket pistol, but I wanted to be comfortable and quick. For me, in that moment that meant a hand carried Smith & Wesson 627-0 with a powerful flashlight in my off hand.

There are things out there in the dark.

Depending on where I am going and what time of day, I will drop a j-frame .38 in my pocket on the way out the door.

Otherwise I’m usually found with a P365.

I have a Remington RM380 for that task

Mines more related to exercising. When jogging or cycling I throw my Taurus 738 .380 in a pocket or pouch. That’s typically only time I go that small.
