I understand that this thread is a joke but I want to throw this out I will bet anything that when this is all over she keeps that gun because she can be trusted with it, where as you and I (the unwashed masses) can't

Had never seen that one (HK). I looked at the magazine, and yet again, then it hit me like a ton of bricks! BWAAHAA! Now that's a compromise!

I still think BBQJOE wins post of the month! BWAAHAA!!

Unlikely, she has gotten too much attention (as desired) to keep it. The fitting end will be turning it in at a buyback and writing a "end of the saga" blog post. Then she can encourage all the other misguided people who bought guns to do the same.

That's great! Thanks for the laugh. But I bet Heidi and a bunch of other anti's won't get it.

A Million laughs

Opened up the thread and saw the photo, and I have to tell you, that generated the biggest smile I have smiled in weeks.
Great Stuff!!

:):):):)

Nah, I'm pretty sure most folks would think something was amiss when the bullets were only ~.3" long. Everyone knows fully assembled cartridges go flying out the end when fired :D

TCB

If I stopped loading cartridges in my C96, I could load at least thirty bullets in the magazine instead of just ten cartridges. A .32, 9mm and .40 bullet ought to match the overall and shape of a 7.63x25 cartridge.

I didn't recognize the name so I Googled her. There was a fantastic comment on one of the anti sites that was bemoaning how misunderstood she was. The commenter simply made the point that in order for to prove the point she was trying to make that someone would need to be injured or killed by her "too easily obtained" gun.

I guess she just wasn't committed enough to the cause!

Reading the comments,

"So why shouldn't we have to do many of these same things for carrying a handgun which is only used for violence?"

As a resident of the state of Kansas, we do not use our guns for violence, we use them as tools for hunting. A hunter's safety class is required for hunters of all ages. Youth cannot hunt without the class, and adults cannot get a hunting permit without proof they have had the class.

We also have concealed carry classes. If you wish to carry your firearm, you need to complete a class showing basic competency.

Unfortunately, it is people writing articles such as this that cause issues. She is an adult and as as such, she should be responsible enough to 1. Research what she is getting into and take the proper precautions and 2. Read the manual. These are the same people who cut off their foot with the new chainsaw because they didn't bother to familiarize themselves with the tool.

Doing the bare minimum has gotten a lot of people in trouble or killed over the years.

Funny OP.
Would be lost to mainstream public though where through the media bullet is synonymous with cartridge in mainstream vocabulary, though they will clearly see something is wrong and notice the 'bullets' dont look quite right and they did something wrong.

I don't believe that is the case with most who get a firearm. Firearms are a big purchase and understood as a potentially lethal tool, an object of lethality in media to even those that have little experience with firearms.
Even more so than many other more casual objects that can be just as dangerous or more so that are seen as more mundane.
This lady is trying to make the point you mention by going out of her way to demonstrate she knows so little about something that she spends a lot of her hours thinking about and demonizing.
Now think of what the reality of that is like:

She would have to intentionally go out of her way not to look up or research even basic function or operation, or look in the manual it came with.
In reality someone that obsessed about an object either out of interest or fear that still goes and gets that object would typically be even more dilligent in research on its operation than someone that presumed to know how to use it.
So in reality she should be quite informed on how it works, and knowing so little is either a farce and she is playing a game and lying, or she really is going out of her way to be as ignorant as possible.

Imagine being so obsessed with an item you own, yet refusing to read even basic information on it that wouldn't even take much time to slowly and methodically go over.
Spending many hours consumed by thoughts of that object, yet refusing to spend minutes to understand its operation.
It takes extra dedication to remain ignorant and resist even a basic internet search or manual glance while thinking so much about that object.
So much so that she is likely playing the role and has in fact read the manual.
Additionally she probably wishes to avoid a criminal record in this, and as such knows some of the places she cannot go with it. That would also take research and effort, but showing that level of effort would be contrary to the image and argument she is trying to make.

She is taking the stance of "I am so stupid that I go out of my way to know nothing about something I am so passionate about and own".
It is hard to argue with that even though it is probably not as true as she is pretending. It also makes you think so little of the person that you wouldn't want to follow thier argument.
It is essentially making the argument of "I am going to make a strong point about something I know nothing about, and I am right."
Think about any other topic, if someone took the stance of I know so little about something that I am an expert on what should be done with it, how could you start a logical conversation with them.
But in reality she is very unlikely to really be that foolish, flagging down an officer and playing the part is just likely a big act.

Bullets are generally cheaper than loaded ammo, so I guess Heidi wanted to save some money. :D Great name.
