<SNIP>I need a few more Mec-Gars for the 5906, I want to convert my sole S&W factory 5906 mag to a 15-roung backup for the 6906 with the S&W grip adapter.
After they are tested at the range, I keep five loaded for defense, and one for a range magazine.
I don't need pictures if someone says they have tons of magazines. I personally have over 300 Glock magazines (different models, etc...) and have seen collections that made my stash pale by comparison. I usually have 10+ per gun.If your running around saying you have 30 magazines per gun I'd like some pics. You could have bought at least another gun for that money.
Short answer - magazines fail. It's not uncommon for magazines to crack at the feed lips or be dropped and bent beyond working geometry, and a semiauto with a bad magazine is a heavy single shot. Keeping the magazines loaded puts a lot of stress on the feed lips that often leads them to crack over time, and yet a carry gun's magazine is gonna be always loaded. I normally try to keep at least eight (8) magazines per gun on hand, and more if I keep them loaded. If that's true (and I realize that isn't the case for everyone), why the need for "a minimum of 12" magazines, much less 24 of them?
