I don't CCW but I do shoot IDPA and carry a pistol in the woods.
Every time I carry a pistol, my magic number seems to be 24 rounds, or two reloads.
That was until I tried using a snubby in IDPA style shooting. The speedloader pouches just don't conceal like a mag pouch does and you bump them on everything. It's a pain to carry three reloads. If I was going to ccw the snubby I'd keep the speed loaders in a pouch in a jacket pocket.
I use Federal 158gr Hydra Shocks in my Colt Magnum Carry. (Total 18 rds)
A BHP and two spares with 13 rds a piece (total 39 rds) is a pretty heavy rig to lug around all day without the right belt and holster combo.
My Commander and (3) 8 shot mags full of 230gr Hydra-shocks seems to weigh a lot less after a long day than the BHP rig. total 24 rds.
