Edward429451,
It is worse than you think. The total target score is based on the worst shot for that target only. If you broke the outside ring with one shot on a target that means your score for the target is zero.

The only valid scores for each target are :100,90,80,70,60,zero

You can post your target, if you can reduce the file size, or send it to me and I can break the bad news to you.

Take a look at my targets and you can get an idea of how the scoring is to be done. (I have a good example of a ZERO score target in there...yeah, I meant to do that, sure, that's the ticket!)

:what: Crap.

Well, here they are anyway. But but but...:D

I shouldn't have shot the SG first at the range and the 44 2nd.

But...

Good days & bad days.

first target would be 0/100 and 2nd 50/100.....for a total of 25/100

44 would both be 0's.....but dont be detered....I still have my 0's yet to come.....and I assure you, they will be here shortly.

Actually, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I think these were all zero's. If you look at the one you indicate as a 50/100 you will see a stray hole way off to the left. If that is truely a hole then that is a zero target. Sorry.

Not an easy one this month.

That's what I thought. I'll sit here and console myself by scoring them normally so it wont seem too bad!!:D

Actually I had a couple of friends up there with me and as soon as I can come up with screen names for them and get them registered, I'll post their scores also. But not to worry, they're probably zero's also. I need to double check them.

Doh! Wadda way to start the year...

Doh! Wadda way to start the year...

Look at the bright side. You got to go shooting. You went with some buddies and got them to try the match. Perhaps they will try next month as well.

Sounds pretty successful to me.

my fault....I didnt even notice that.

BTW I have a problem with doing this at 50 foot......my range is a 15 yard as closest and next setting is 25 feet. I wont be able to do any official scoring cause of this. 15 yards = 45 feet.....I will be 5 feet short of the target needed.

It was. I had a lot of fun. At one point them guys got into a little competition with a 4" steel plate at 50 yds and one of them rang it 38 out of 40 trys with a 10/22 (I didn't take mine this trip), so I know he'll make a good showing when a rimfire rifle match comes up. Myself, I'm looking for another Service Rifle Match...

Maybe a one shot match. First shot of the day from a cold clean barrel, hint hint. Do I got time to drop to prone when I see that Elk, or are you going to make me shoot it offhand?:uhoh: :D

Procharger, Sounds like your range doesn't give you the flexability to place targets anywhere and has only preset placements. I'd say go ahead and shoot at 15 yards and note it when you report your score. Perhaps stand as far back from the line as you deem safe to try and make it a little closer to 50 ft. (You should be able to add a foot or two depending on the range set-up.

Anybody else? Would people prefer future match distances be specified in yards? Feet? Meters? Microns?

This match was a wake-up call.
I never looked at the "fliers"before, just the "nice group".
Made me realize I still have a long way to go.

this IS a tough match this month,,,

but remember not to focus on the bad shot, (s)

concentrate instead on what you did RIGHT when you made all the good shots,,,

:)

could i suggest a match where we shoot the correct target at the proper distance?

say a 50 footer or 25 yarder - slowfire? eg

or we could try a little rapid at those distances too,,,

m

oh,,,hey deputy,,,what's it gonna take to get you to move to CT so's you can join our team here?

we're still undefeated but we may have lost one of our best shooters due to immature BS (mostly on his part),,,so it may become a little tougher to maintain that status...

if only there was big $ involved,,,the winning team DOES get to eat first at the year end banquet,,,now theres some consolation,,,

:D

ATTENTION: CUT-OFF FOR JAN MATCH 2/9/2004

To all THR Virtual Match participants: Because the January match was not posted until well after the start of the month I have decided to allow entries to be submitted until 2/9/2004. This gives everyone two more weekends to get out to the range and give the match a try.

I plan to post the February match around 2/1/2004 ,so there will be some overlap , but it will get us back onto a calendar month schedule going forward.

Go forth and perforate those targets!

Your guest Match Co-ordinator,

280PLUS,
I don't see me coming up north unless I have to pick up a prisoner. I've only been on Yankee soil twice. I can't afford to keep replacing boots.

cool,,,

during spring plowing around here they still find french musket balls and the like in the fields where lafayette and the boys passed through and camped

lots of native american artifacts can still be found as well

lots of other events too,,,

e.g. the british theft of hundreds of pounds of gold from the revolutionaries at a little tavern in granby, ct. north of hartford (there were fatalities involved)

the gold disappeared and was never found

people hunt it to this day,,,

dug on the site with the state archeologists office over the summer,,,

no gold,,,

:(

me...i gotta head south for at least a visit to gettysburg

i've read a lot about it and i'd like to get a feel for the actual battlefield

oh,,,btw,,,you ARE missing 14" of snow with 13 Degrees and winds to 45 mph at the moment,,,who wouldnt want to live in that?

:D
