Now that ISIS has threatened attacks on American Shopping malls

Has anyone re-evaluated their carry weapon? According to CNN, ISIS is asking it's supporters to attack shopping malls in the United States.
I have been carrying a pocket gun when in that type of place, but now am seriously thinking of going back to a full-size gun, or a compact with a 15 round minimum capacity "like a G19" wit 2 extra mags, in case I do find myself in a situation where a group of well armed maniacs decide to attack a shopping mall that I am in with my wife, or perhaps a Restaurant or other populated target of opportunity.
I am aware that I am not going to shoot it out with a bunch of guys with AK's or fully automatic weapons, but perhaps something that provided enough cover fire to haul ass out of a place under siege.
Also having an AR, or AK pistol in the car is becoming to look like a good idea.
I would think that places like Town Center Mall in Boca Raton FL, or South Beach, would be on a list of high value targets Considering their actions of late, I don't see this as far fetched as I would have even a month ago.
 
When "ISIS attacks the mall" has been a gag phrase I've started using in the last few months, actually.

I think more than anything -- it would be good to be with a "partner" who is also armed, and willing to bang it out.
 
First of all, it was the Somali group Al Shabab, not ISIL.
Second of all, why are we even giving credence to the media and to these nobodies?
 
Here's the trick: If you can get the US and NATO to stop backdoor funding/supplying ISIS in order to perpetuate the doctrine of our current communistic leaning top officials, this wouldnt be an issue we'd need to discuss.... Geez...;)
 
Because I heard it twice in the last half hour, so even if it had no validity, which it probably does, "these things always have some truth mixed in with the bull", some copycat psyco group may think it's a great idea now.
It would have been a lot smarter for them not to have said anything, "as usual", as this just adds fuel to the fire.
The U.S., Britain, and it's allies. And by the way, they said ISIS.
 
The greater threat in the small town I live in are the Central American gangs here. The threat is real and ten blocks to my west is a bad place to live. But here I carry I go to jail. Makes lots of sense to me.

If your carry setup is not designed for you to actually fight with, you should have re-evaluated a long time ago.

And that goes regardless of if ISIS is a threat, or it's just another skinny white kid that didn't get enough attention at home...

I have not because the idea that some supporter of some terrorist group poses a greater threat than our native criminals makes no sense to me. Practically speaking for those of us in the US, ISIS is about as big a threat as the Wendigo.
 
Well, I go to the Mall of America. If an attack happens, I have 21 rounds and a prayer I'm not the only one carrying. I would carry a rifle if I could!
 
Hummm - Interesting since we have the Mall of America and a significant Samali population where some have been linked to ISIS in the recent past.

I live in a much more rural area and never get to the twin city area these days, so I have no additional concern for myself anyway.

That said, perhaps if I did frequent the MOA I likely would consider a little more firepower than I normaly carry. To be fair it is a consideration I always give when traveling into a larger city where there is known gang activity.

Funny how the large city populations seem to vote anti gun weasles into office when they are the ones that bear a larger threat.

If they get organized enough to pull something like that off, it wont be a bunch of guys swinging swords yelling god is great. It will be suicide bombers or a bunch of vans packed with fertilizer in a parking garage.

And Isis,isol, or abcd, I can think of a million other places id go shopping than a mall. I don't think I've been in a mall in 20 years.

I'm more concerned about the gangbanger wannabe holding up the liquor store or gas station in in, or the pissed off dishwasher who got fired last night where I'm having dinner tonight.
 
If you can't or have no intention of answering the question, then you should not try to change the subject. Just don't respond. I have lived through a lot and in 45 years of carrying a gun, have been in circumstances where it was necessary to use it. I am asking a simple question don't pollute it just answer it or don't.
I never said anything about running to a car for a weapon. Is that what you think a truck or vehicle gun is for? The problem here lately is that some people just cannot just answer a question without adding their own nonsense which has nothing to do with the question.
If you notice many of the old timers are either gone, or don't post because of this.
I lived in Bed sty, and was born there what does that have to do with ISIS, who said anything about running out to get a gun and going back in. This is just where the train goes off the tracks right in the station.
 
I have carried "heaver" with spare mags when going to very public places with substantial crowds.

But I tend to avoid these places when possible just because I don't like crowds.

No crap -- might I suggest you do as my friend does: add one 33 round O.E.M. mag in a front cargo pocket -- safe shopping!
 
Specifically that mall? I understand its a GFZ. Leave the sheep for themselves. I would shop elsewhere to begin with.

Any other mall, I have begun carrying 3 extra mags. More domestic worries than that of the foreign kind.

Glock 19 or 26 depending on clothes, and either one carried with a spare G17 magazine.

Spare magazine is more for malfunction handling than additional capacity, but additional capacity is never bad.
 
We don't shop malls as a rule, but we gun up depending on where we are going. Otherwise just carry the G26 as usual.
