One 9mm

I’ve considered a threaded barrel, and because of my eyes I’m stuck with a Holosun (until someone else makes a green circle and dot that’s better quality) and it’s due a set of Talon Pros.

But it’s close :)

That said, because of my eyes and a general distrust of electronics, I prefer the Glock 19 without the dot and simple Ameriglo CAP sights on it.

Yes I used the Holosun also, 507K , with a Faxon threaded barrel (which has nice rifling and good chamber support) and Suppressor height Tritium Big dot sights . I did carefully change the link to 3.5 # and polished a few other inner pieces when I did with a diamond hone . Glock Perfection !

A year ago I'd have said G19 with no hesitation. But I've been shooting the Sig 320 a lot lately and it's winning me over. I specifically like both the M17 and M18 due to the option of a safety.

I have the M17 Bravo and really like it. I installed the FCU into a Wilson Combat module and it is fantastic. I then bought the compact slide, which still works with all my holsters.

Tough question

Especially when I have never owned a 9mm.
Though, I did consider the Ruger Blackhawk .357, with the extra 9mm cylinder, for about 2 minutes.

The ability to conceal carry is the #1 priority for me. For that reason I'd choose a P365X or perhaps a P365XL. With the MagGuts spring kit it brings the capacity to 14+1. A bit of sanding to the grip module and the magazine floor plate, and it fits my XL hands like a glove. Extending the magazine release button makes magazine swaps possible without rotating the P365X in my hand. Weighting the handgrip improved the balance. Polishing internal contact points improved the reliability and made the trigger pull very smoothly at 7 lbs. It has tritium night sights. It's easily operable manual safety will greatly reduce the possibility of "Glock Leg". The low bore axis makes the recoil and muzzle flip easy to manage. It is an easy gun to completely disassemble and reassemble. The curved trigger allows more room to fit a gloved finger. The controls are low profile to reduce snagging. It is just about as small as I am comfortable shooting. It's not fugly looking. I haven't seen any other pistol that fits my needs as well.

Chicharrones:

How about you and the other CZ PCR (75 D) and P-01 owners?

You should simply fall in line and prefer the all-American Glock.

Is subtle irony detectable here by intuition (this can be difficult), or must emojis be used?

I've tried a couple of Glocks over the years and never much carred for them. Nothing wrong with them, they're just sort of "boring" I suppose. Most any post like this will bring out Glocks out the ying-yang.

It's sort of like when I was bass fishing a lot. Most any tournament I went to, there would be Ranger and Winner boats everywhere. You couldn't tell one from the other. I was the only guy there, usually, running a Cajun. It stood out from the crowd. Not that it was a lot if any better, but it was different. Ok. Maybe a bit better.

A CZ-75-D is "different." And maybe just a bit better. ;)

"Better" is usually in the eyes of the beholder and based on what they have and know, vs what, if any real experience they have with other things. Which I think more often than not, isn't usually a whole lot, and a lot of times, the same goes for what they have and like.

How many have actually shot the gun they have and like to the point things break, and the guns are wearing out, to even know if or not it really is better?

If you haven't actually run a bunch of different makes and types through the mill to the point above to see which one really is better, "better" is really meaningless.

I think if you pick a gun from a maker of known quality and has a decent rep, and you spend some quality time with it, shooting and working with it, to know it is what you want, you'll be fine. Whether or not its really what you want and "better", is up to you to prove out, and that requires some work and $$$ on your part. Pretty pics arent the way to pic a gun.

All that matters for each of us is, does it work for you and can you make it work?

All the constant whining you hear about grip angles, triggers, this and that, etc, are really just a lack of experience on the shooters part, and not usually the guns fault. If you cant shoot it, that's not the guns fault either.

The only way to know with any of them, is going to cost you a good bit of time, effort, and ammo in shooting a bunch of them. At the end of that, you'll be pretty close to knowing which one is "better". At least til the next pretty pic gets posted. :)

Shhh. Don't tell anyone in the thread that it shoots .45 ACP.

I got to put a few magazines worth through a factory stock 365X (no safety lever) recently. It was a surprisingly good shooter that fit my hand naturally.

Keeping in mind that I have small hands to begin with, the first time I held a P365 in my hand I thought: "Wow this is really tiny even by my standards"! Haven't had a chance yet but I would like to try a P365X out just to see if it feels a little bit more substantial than the original grip frame on the P365.

I have smallish hands. The 365X fit me nicely, but it's certainly thinner than my CZ75PCR.

If your hands are small enough that you can get, not just a 2-1/2 finger, but a full 3 finger grip on a P365, then the taller XL grip module won't provide much improvement, except that the XL grip module also adds a beavertail. But if you are getting less than a 3 finger grip on a P365, you will probably like the taller XL grip module. If you only plan to carry with at least 12 rds, then go with the taller XL grip module. The standard P365 with a 12 rd magazine gives a squishy feel, whereas the XL handgrip with a 12rd magazine provides a more solid feel.

At this moment in time I'm really liking my EDC Shield Plus. That could change in a heartbeat if I were to find "the one".

Sig 320. I mean, you only own one, but a closet full of components make it anything you want

I've described my hands as "on the small side of medium," so . . . smallish for me, too. I haven't shot a P365 of any variety, but I've never liked the way they felt in my hands. The Shield, though, is an entirely different matter. With the extended magazine, it feels like it was made for my hands.

Funny, I'm just the opposite. The Shield Plus may be The One for me. Someone will have to come out with an absolutely dynamite pistol at a dirt cheap price to get me to switch again.

I'm often surprised at how much difference a couple of millimeters here, and 0.2 oz there makes in how a gun feels in the hand.
