Poland unveils a new handgun

I like the big, long extractor. It seems as if I see more consistent ejection/extraction from guns with that long lever of an extractor rather than a shorter extractor.

Looks like kind of a cross between a Walther P99 and a Steyr M. Not a bad looking handgun. I wonder how it shoots?

Kinda swoopy and curvy. I don’t find that style frame/grips favor me, but others may love the feel.

The molded-in faux lever-pad above the trigger area is an interesting take on a memory pad for safe trigger finger placement. Not a bad idea for gloved hands/cold climates/high stress, IMHO.

I obviously haven’t seen one, nor will I probably ever see one here in the peoples Republik unless the ridiculous “safe handgun roster” finally gets tossed. If someone does get one, I hope they give us a good rundown on it.

Stay safe.

I like some of these ideas.
  • An internal metal frame that can be fitted with the grip of your choice.
  • A mounting block toward the rear of the slide to hold the sighting device of your choice.
  • What appear to be night sights in addition to the mounting block.
  • plus all of the other standard bells and whistles rhat come on most modern striker-fired service pistols... .

Have to admit to liking the 'chassis' system; SIG (apparently) didn't originate it, but it is a great idea.
Our military thought so as well, as they made it part of their 'request for proposals'for what became the M17/18.
In restricted states/Europe, a single serial number simplifies any number of things.
Whether this Radom takes off here, or not, we will be seeing more of the chassis system.

I already have all the FB Radom I want-

Come to think about it they could probably make the original version again and get more money per gun than they would with the new model!

I can think of many worse choices. Then again, I still don’t own a Glock, and it’s rather more field-proven than this one. So overall it may not fill any burning new market niche, but it’ll at least give the Poles something home-grown in the advent of some completely unthinkable new European war…….
