Gang,

I got a case of catalogs from Armalite showing the entire current Sarsilmaz pistol line. I thought some of you might find a couple pistols interesting that are not shown on the web site. The K2 model is their decocker, but also features a breech locking design from what the pictures show. The Mega model is a traditional CZ pattern pistol, but with interesting lines that remind me somewhat of a Bren 10. Below are some scans from the catalogs. I find that if one looks at the entire line, most of the features suggested by forum members are present. It should simply be a matter of combining them into pistols suited for the American market.

That K2 looks interesting. I wonder how the mainspring is housed. It looks like the grips are plastic and wrap around, I wonder if they fix the mainspring like SMith does, like Sig does or something else.
I think I will get one of the megas just for the square trigger guard alone.
any idea on prices yet?

Only the statement from Armalite that it will be between an XD and Glock. In my area those guns are roughly the same price, so I am not sure what that means. I should have info when available though. I am betting Armalite won't know until they get configurations pinned down.

Any information on ARMSCOR's CZ clones? They suppose to hit the US market mid year.

I spoke to them about that and was supposed to get a catalog with information from Ivan, but have not yet. I need to follow up on that again. My understanding is that they will be the Tanfoglio Force models, in a blued finish. At least that is what a friend said who saw then at SHOT.

Armscore has Tanfoglio guns listed at their website already. I aksed Ivan about the steel frame model AP9 at 1911 forum, he said the frame will be made by Tanfoglio. I suppose that means forged. A good thing since Armscore's own 1911s are cast. If Armscore has the same pricing strategy, quality and service as their RIA line, it will be tough for Armalite guns unless they get to the market early enough to get a soild foot hold. I think Armalite will not have theirs until Fall. I probably would want to see what Armscore can offer first.

They are only listed on the Phillipines site. The Tanfoglios are not forged, they are cast. All Tanfoglio frames and slides are cast, as are the internal parts. This is an area where Armalite hopes to correct past issues, by forging as much of the gun as possible. Frames and slides will all be forged, as may some internal parts. Armscor guns will all be blued based on the site listing. They also lack any of the upgrades available on the Armalite or EAA guns, such as adjustable sights, extended controls, checkering, adjustable triggers.

I think Armscor's biggest chance will be if the guns are really cheap. EAA wholesales their base guns with Wonder finish (tennifer) at under $300. Armscor will have to be under that or they will not make it. They are essentially bringing in the bottom line Tanfoglio guns now that EAA has stopped doing that.

Thanks for the information. Did not know that. That changed my thought on the Armalite guns. I almost went to get a Witness but was concerned about their service and the availability of 18 rnd mags. Now I am glad I did not get the Witness because of the cast components. The same reason I did not want an RIA 1911. No wonder they are cheap! Thanks.
