hey im in too , i've had my 336 - 30-30 sence i was about 5 years old. i've had other rifles too but, i have kill more deer with the marlin than any other gun i own. and to this day its still the gun i reach for anytime i go out the door. its the only gun that if times got really hard , i'd never part with!

I got it at Wild West Guns in Anchorage along with the ghost sights and a single extractor.

336 in 35 Remmington
Came home with me today. I haven't fired a lever action in decades but I wanted a short carbine for Alabama brush.
I was led to believe that the 35 has a little more thump than the 30-30. I'm determined to be a one shot one kill type hunter!
I will probably put an XS scope mount on it with an extended eye relief scope.

Glad I found this thread. I usually live on the Marlin Owners site. This one should be fun. I'll start off with a 1951 Model 336 in .32 Special. It shoots good jacketed and loves my 184 grain cast load.

Just discovered this thread, love it. I've had my 336CS in .35 Rem since I was 14. First rifle I ever had. Dad bought it for me at Kmart as a Christmas present. Killed MANY whitetails with it. My 14 year old son took his first deer last year with it. He dropped a doe at 175yds this year with open sights. I hope to make this the first deer gun for all three of my boys. Best all around deer gun I think I'll ever have. BTW, load up some .357 Rem hollow points an see what is does to the varmints!

Seven shots at 30 yards... iron sights... they all touched! I have a new favorite rifle!

I will look at reloading for this rifle. The Remington 200's are $1 + a shot. I love this rifle but at this price I will shoot my 1894 in .357 a lot more!

FredT, that is the Holy Grail of Marlins as far as I'm concerned. A 336SC in 32WS: And in 90% condition from what I see. That's slicker than snot on a brass doorknob.

I joined the ranks of Marlin 336 owners this past weekend with the purchase of a 336CS in .35 Remington. It now resides next to my 1895G in 45/70. I purchased it used, setup as you see it, with a Weaver K-4 and Butler Creek scope caps. I'm unsure if I'll leave it as is or change the scope out to a more compact model. First I need to get it to the range.

I have some plain old Remington Core-Lokt 200 gr. rn. That I am going to try first. Next I plan to try the Hornady Leverevolution 200 gr when it gets back in stock. I don't handload so I'm limited to what I can shoot off the shelf.

Try the Federal and Winchester as well. I got really great groups from the Winchester 200 grain Powerpoints.

This is a hunting rifle so as long as rifle remains 3 or 4 MOA in terms of accuracy I'm happy.
I shoot Hornady LeverEvolution ammo almost exclusively thourgh it.
I've got some 45 ACP semi-auto pistols with 10,000+ rounds through them and they are still in great shape. I'm not as familiar with how the higher pressure rifle rounds would impact barrel life. I suspect I could get at least 10,000 rounds through my barrel and still have 3 or 4 MOA accuracy but I'd love your input.
