The Gun You Would Trust your Life To

I trust all of my firearms with my life, because I won't keep a gun that is unreliable, Period.

I bought a mint looking HK93 that jammed every couple of rounds and no matter what I did I could not get it working correctly, even sent it to HK for repair and it still jammed. Ended up giving it away to Bill Fleming to help pay for his wifes cancer treatments. I figured if he couldn't get it running right then there was no hope.

Well I trust them all because I maintain and shoot all of them regularly.

But if I HAD to pick one it would have to be my only revolver.....S&W Model 57 .41 Mag.

This has been the most reliable handgun I've had, by a wide margin, including a number of 1911's and a black plastic self loader of high repute. The accuracy beats any and all self loaders I've had by a wide margin also, other than one Colt National Match (Gold Cup), tho I couldnt ever shoot it as consistantly as the Smith, and it certainly wasn't as reliable.

This has been the most reliable and useful long gun I've ever had by a wide margin, including a number of kalashnikovs.

My personal build M4, all of my Glocks, all of my Smiths.

Still working the bugs out of the STG58.

S&W 629, 44 mag, 8 inch, 200 grain JHP for anything out to 150 yards. Have hit with it at 200 but not reliably.

Good guns

My AR 15, Moss 590 9shot shotgun and my M&P 45's. Two mags with tracers and two mags with barrier ammo for the AR 15, along with assorted gadgets and gizmos in my bug out pack plus whats in my Tac vest.:p:p

Some SWAT teams and many foreign military/police forces use various HKs.

Didn't the West German GSG, which boarded the hijacked Lufthansa airliner in Mogadishu and saved the passengers, surviving crew (late 70s/early 80s) use HKs?

Maybe they are among the most reliable rifles, but do the rollers etc need very frequent cleaning?

All my guns shoot straight and go *bang* every time. I've never actually had to defend my life with any of them yet, but if it came down to it, I'm confident they will work when I need them to.

I'd first let my dogs at 'em and if they get by them then it's serious time, either a glock 19 or a trusty mini 14, everybody else get down...

What is the one gun in your collection that you would most trust your life to . For me its a Glock 21sf. I was thinking just home defense or ccw but you can do war scenarios if youd like for a rifle or shotgun.

Any firearm I own must prove itself reliable, and thus can fulfill the role of trusting my life to.

With that said, for home defense I would opt for my Remington 870 12 Guage Pump Action Shotgun. For CCW, providing it wasn't my only handgun, my Colt Rail Gun with WML gets the nod. If I was limited to one, and only one, handgun it would be my 4" GP100.

The old guns I have I would not hesitate to pick up at the first sign of trouble. My M1 Garand, the K frame .38 special combat masterpiece I keep in the car, or the J frame chiefs special airweight .38 special I keep on my hip, soon to be replaced with a Glock 26.

One handgun I would trust my life on is my customized Colt Combat Commander.

One rifle I would trust my life on is my Colt AR-15.

One shotgun I would trust my life on is my Mossberg Model 9200.
