The Last Handgun That You Would Sell!

How to choose 1 out of 20odd? That's an easy one. My Uberti SAA Frontier Six Shooter 44-40, because it is a wedding gift from my bride of 29 years.

Glock 17 even though I like the 19 better. The 17 is sentimental to me, I absolutely had to have one shortly after turning 21. I had a P95, a Taurus revolver and a 1911 but when I got the G17 I thought I really had something, it was a good moment in my life when I remember the stuff that I had going for me back then, things were coming together, young healthy family, first steady place, steady job, etc.... and the G17 was the cherry on top of it all. My Springfield XD mod 2 subcompact in .45acp is what I consider my most useful weapon in the most different circumstances. I have other handguns that I love a lot more but a pistol that is very concealable but will also carry 13+1 when needed and shoots like a full sized with the 13 round magazine is very hard to beat for flexibility.

I like the usefulness of the XDmod2 so much I decided that I would pick up a second one to keep locked up in a strong box the truck all the time like I do in the car. Stupid Springfield stopped making them. :fire: Now I have to consider something else for the truck or go through the hassle of buying used. I haven't shot an XDm but I doubt I will like the grip as much as my XDmod2.

I would be hard to keep house without a good .22 pistol or revolver, a Colt single action in .45 Colt and a .44 Special revolver. I would have to get pretty hungry to sell any of the handguns below. All of these were grail guns for me. The 624 and the Freedom Arms model 97, in .44 Special are my most carried revolvers, when hunting or just walking the woods. I would hate to sell any of my firearms but these would be very hard to part with. 48FDC948-E7A1-46A9-8BEF-57DF43422F0D.jpeg 82E3BBE9-84A0-4BD4-87D7-C26E33EC6451.jpeg 708542C2-4BAB-4082-AAA9-E730DBFA3872.jpeg F8F4B35E-AC7B-4687-8716-19C57E7D8AF5.jpeg 8219271C-45BD-4322-82FE-EDBA627A9BBC.jpeg

After my avatar, I suppose this type 14 Nambu would be next in line. I believe it to be the highest conditioned type 14 on the planet. It is a 99% gun and it was never fired after leaving the factory. The ever present "safety scratch" on these guns is there, but it is barely visible. I'm guessing the safety was tested once at the factory and never moved again. The magazine and the insides of the gun are full of a brown grease which I assume is cosmoline. All numbers matching. Grips are mahogany The gun was made in 1935 and exhibits the superb quality of many of the pre-war Japanese guns. I'll put it up against any Luger for looks.

I have a long list of heirlooms that ain't going no place.

I have several of my father's guns and there's the 38-40/10mm Buckeye Sports Blackhawk my brother bought me, when he passed his wife asked me if there was any of his guns I wanted and I got the matching 32-20/32 H&R and have already made it well known that they will go to my grandsons when they're old enough.

Probably my Taurus G2c. It's the gun I carry. It's reliable, and I shoot it pretty well, at least by my standards. It's also the one I'd get the least for, since they're cheap/inexpensive to start with. I've also got a holster and pretty fair stash of ammo and reloading components for it (9mm).

When I was given a script for a service dog, I sold everything I could to get a good pup. I didn’t have a lot at the time, going through a hellish divorce and being off work due to severe injuries from a gang hit. I sold off every gun I owned except for a 642 and a G26. I gathered up enough money for the pup, a year’s worth of prevention meds, vet bills, and emergency medical fund. I carried the 642 in a pocket holster and the G26 OWB and did that for almost three years. If I was smart I would have stayed there and saved a lot of money from trying to chase unicorns.

When life happens we always look back and say, what if or I wish I would have done something differently.
I hope you are getting your feet back on the ground soon.
The last gun I would sell thread is a hypothetical question. You had to make the harder choice and decided on what handgun (s) you need. And the 642 & G26 are great choices.
Best of luck to you and your new partner (your service dog).

I appreciate that, but I’m not broke by any means now. Back then, six years ago, it was a different story. Since then, the money I have spent on trying to find that unicorn and must haves it just vulgar when I sit down and think about it. All of that just to end back up with Baby Glocks and J Frames again.

We maybe look at what’s in our holster as a trophy more than a tool. I think we all over think and what we carry and need. One point being a thread on another forum about Eli Dickens and his gun, what he did, and how he did it with FMJs. Just because it’s not the newest flavor of pistol or the newest death dealing bullet, doesn’t mean everything else is obsolete. True to the matter, what happened in the mall out ALOT of internet/expert “facts” on notice.

Thank you again,
Jerry

First handgun I bought, cheap West Hurley AO 1911. Unreliable out of the box. After new mags, polishing the feed ramp, and tuning the extractor, I'll put this up against any other gun for reliability.

I watched a hickok45 video last night.
The last pocket pistol I would ever sell.

I knew what he was going to choose from watching previous videos of his.

So I thought let's start a thread: The last handgun I would sell!

I would have an easy time picking the pocket pistol that I would never sell, but the handgun I would never sell??

Let's hear about your last handgun that you would ever sell!
Are you asking about the last one I WOULD sell, or the one I WOULD NOT?

Barring having to be limited to one "do everything" handgun in which case i'd keep my GP100 5" 357, either of the two handguns i sold once already and replaced with identical models later.o_O

I had to think about this a while. I currently own seven handguns. The last I WOULD sell is a Glock 30. It's a good gun, but it's also nothing special. Cost aside, I can replace it tomorrow.

The same goes for six out of my seven handguns. It may take some doing to find a six-inch S&W 27-2, but it it what it is. I may have to wait a while for a price drop to replace two of my three CZ pistols, but again, it is what it is.

The one handgun I own, that I'm not sure I can replace at any price, because it was one of a limited production run, is a CZ Custom SP-01. So I wouldn't sell it.
