The Last Handgun That You Would Sell!

My choice is more about a platform or model type than a current handgun.
I really like my 442 j frame 38 +p. It is nothing special. Just my favorite carry. I would sell it if I had a M&P 340 or 642 to replace it. It would have to be a centennial design. Just a j frame like a 637 wouldn't do.

Another special gun of mine is a Taurus 415 41mag. It is just a cool little hiking carry. I would only part with it if S&W would make a L frame 41mag with a 2 1/2 -3 " barrel.

I am one of those guys that will trade off a gun for the next best thing. And yes I have regretted a few trades :fire:

Two reasons I never sell my guns. First reason,my father passed on his love of firearms(and some actual firearms) to me. I treasure the firearms and the legacy he passed to me as very real and tangible reminders of him. I hope I have done the same for my kids and will pass on the firearms I have acquired along with the ones passed to me from my father and grandfather. Second reason is that in today's political environment, I honestly don't know if my kids will even be allowed to purchase firearms or what draconian hoops they might have to jump through to exercise their fundamental rights. It is important to me that they are able to practice their rights no matter where government is headed.

S&W MODEL 58, 41 Magnum. I carried it as a LEO sidearm for 13 years.
I drew and dry fired it 10 times every day before going on duty and fired 18 rounds on my days off, and it shows.
We got into a couple of serious social encounters, but it got me home.
It’s going to my son when I croak.

ps: the knife is obsidian and elk rib.

the handgun that i will never sell is my taurus 85 steel 38sp snubbie because it was my one and only firearm for 25 years due to my locales, and saved me once.

the last gun that i will actually use might be a better question. probably a ruger sr22. after 20k rounds thru this platform i know it intimately and am spot-on accurate. it’s totally reliable with cci ammo. when i’m infirm and near my mortal end the ruger sr22 will be soft-shooting enough to still enjoy practice and handy enough to be my protection.

I agree with you on that. The Ruger SR22 is an outstanding gun, very accurate, perfectly reliable with CCI. It is under appreciated by the firearms community. The gun only has one flaw; the darn safety flips the wrong way.

I buy guns to fill a niche. I have a single action 45 LC, it is not my favorite but the feeling of kinship is still there. My heirs can sell it but I ain’t gonna. Every gun I have I feel the same way about. I feel a kinship towards my Kimber 1911 the same as my Tisas. Both are equal in my affection for them. I buy guns, I don’t sell them. My heirs can do that. When they lay me down for the big dirt nap l’ll still have the ones I have now plus any others that come along.

Mine is a Gen 3 Glock 22. It was owned by my father. He was not a gun guy but introduced me to shooting. He had a beautiful custom Kimber 1911 but unfortunately that was stolen from him before he passed away. He bought the Glock to have the same gun I was issued when zi first became a LEO. I have no really desire to own a Glock 22, but it has a huge amount of sentimental value to me.
