my marlin is misfiring bad!!!!
I have searched and searched to no avail....HELP.. I love my marlin 39a, I like the feel, the look, and everything else...anyway here is the problem. It is misfiring about every 3rd or 4th round!!! Like clockwork.. EVERY 3rd or 4th round..... It is a fairly new gun as I bought it in January of this year (08) and I have only put maybe 200 rounds through it and its misfiring. Most of the time I can re-cock the hammer and then it will fire, sometimes I have to pull it back 3 times. If It doesn't go after three I will eject and save it, I have examined the strike marks and some are light and some aren't. I put those "duds" in my ruger 10/22 or my win 190 and BANG! I have never had misfire problems like this from any other gun and I'm peeved. It's done it with 4 different types of ammo (win, rem, cci, fed)thats not normal.. even if it is cheap....so I hope. I have read some of the ideas on this forum and already checked for: excessive oil/grease, burrs, loose screws, etc etc. I really want to correct this problem because it's a beautiful piece that I would like to take hunting and boast as a very reliable gun, but in the mean time I just can't risk it... HELP PLEASE... by the way I am new to this forum (sorry for the long windedness.)
