They don't even have an up to date prohibited persons list now. With out that the RFL is useless.
With in the last year or 2 a mass shooter walked into a gun store, bought a gun. He had been dishonorablely discharged from the air force for beating up his wife bad enough to put her in the hospital. The air force put the guy in prison for a few years then when he got out the AF never bothered to file the paperwork to put the guy on the gun buy naughty list.
Mitch McConnell has announced the Senate needs to pass a bill to address the shootings, and says an AWB could be considered. Now is the time to stock up.

As far as ubc we should see if any way we can get a clause where your local police station has to run these checks for free.
Not to mention all the ATF knocks on the door for multiple handgun sales because you decided to lend a couple pistols to a buddy to take to the range because you have to work, and have to do multiple handgun transfers back and forth.
At least from what I’ve seen/heard, these type of situations wouldn’t require going through an FFL. You’d still be able to lend guns to friends and such.
Most of what I’ve seen also allows for firearms to be transferred within a family without an FFL.
Who's paying $600 for an AR? More like $350.
There's a path I'd be willing to take to have UBC.
Repeal the NFA of 34.
Repeal GCA of 68.
Open up background checks to private citizens to call and make (or an app). And CCW holders are exempt.
Get rid of form 4473, and ban the ATF from collecting any sort of records of sales or background checks.
Do these things and I'll be OK with UBC.

PSA. Buy in two pieces, push two pins, attach optics, load, and shoot.Where? I'm looking for one.
Depends on what you want. Yes, it's possible to get a low-end AR cheaply. But I just paid ~$600 for an A2 upper half only from Brownells, and I had to put it together myself. (And even at that it had a mismatched "F" marked front sight base.)Who's paying $600 for an AR? More like $350.
