I'm waiting for my P11 to come back from the factory. Last time I fired it the slide locked back and wouldn't budge. I love the gun, but when I get it back, I'm going to have to fire an awful lot of rounds before I trust it enough to carry again.

I had a P32 that I got as a gift and ended up selling. It had an FTE about every other mag. However, even if I didn't have the FTE's I still wouldn't have carried the gun.
I also have a PF9 which has been reliable so far. The only time I carry it is during work in my front pocket or as a backup. The gun I prefer to carry (G23) is to tough for me to conceal at work during the warm weather months so I went with a pocketable 9mm. With that said, I voted that a Kel Tec is not my first choice but they are reliable enogh to carry.

Purchased a p3at in Nov 08 after the anointed one took office. I have put 200 rounds through it without a problem. I'm carrying Corbons in it now. Like my Glock, it isn't pretty but it has worked every time.

I have a P11 that has been great so far, bought it used with unknown round count and I've put 300 thru it so far with no problems. I use it as my daily carry piece without concern.

It has a heavy trigger, I see that as a plus.

I am planning to pick up a PF9 at some time as it is a bit smaller and might work better in warmer weather for concealed carry.

"Purchased a p3at in Nov 08 after the US President who got the most electoral college votes and populous votes took office. I have put 200 rounds through it without a problem. I'm carrying Corbons in it now. Like my Glock, it isn't pretty but it has worked every time."

Fixed it for you.

I have had 2 P3AT's and one PF-9. Only one P3AT worked as it should. That is the one I carry. Other P3AT was stolen, PF-9 broke and sold it at a 1/3 loss.

My Kel-Tec P-11 has been everything a carry gun should be and more!

The pocket clip makes it a breeeze to carry with absolute comfort.

I have put well over 1000+ trouble free rds through it usually running about 150-200 at a time.

The one attribute you will find most hating on is the obvious heavy trigger pull. I was already used to shooting double action pistols so the transition was a breeze after 100 or so rounds. I also find the trigger pull very ideal for the ccw role the P-11 was designed to serve!

I am on waiting lists at 3 different gun shops for a pf9.....10 wks and counting

there is one on gunbroker right now with a "buy it now" price of $280 which is about as good as youre going to find. grab it!

PF9 is a good platform. just a tad larger than my sig p238. you get 9mm instead of 380 and an extra round. thats a winning combo in a pocket ccw.

I've got a P3AT and it has been reliable. Other than the Ruger LCP nothing carries easier in a pocket. I can pocket carry the little 380 all day without discomfort.
Is it my first choice? No. If conditions allow, I'll carry something bigger; it's just that something bigger isn't always doable due to.....

I carry a P3-AT
I always carried a Glock 26. When the wife wanted a small pistol we got a P3At.
She didn't like it & went for a Sig P-238.
After break in of 200 rds. I liked the P3At & carry it all the time.
The slide is a bear to pull back but I carry with one in the chamber so it don't bother me.

good advice smartshooter.45 but....
heading to lgs later today to pick a H&R ultra-lite slug gun that I ordered last fall.

I don't want to rouse any suspicion with the Mrs. (she's pretty sure I have enough guns already)

I have their P11 and like the gun

I have used it for about 10 years now without any problems. For the price it is hard to beat. A small pocket size 9mm weighing 14 oz and 5.6 long , holding 10 shots of 9mm , and very reliable is a real bargain in my opinion. Wily Clapp , handgun writer, says it is the best deal going for CCW in 9mm.

I carry a PF-9 every day and have put 200 rounds through it with out a hitch! I will continue to carry it until something better comes around.

I went with the reliable enough but not first choice option. I have a P-11 that I have ran 350 rnds of Win white mix of fmj and jhp. I expected some malfunc's early on during break-in, however after good cleaning and lubing after every range visit, the gun still hangs up every few mags on a round. The only time it hasn't done this is if I kept the gun VERY wet while shooting it. Problem is, I would never keep it that wet while carrying. I would not recommend a Kel-Tec to an inexperienced shooter since a new shooter ideally should not have to deal with a FTF while dealing with a BG. I think we who are familiar with guns will often excuse a firearm that does not function perfectly if we think the gun is a "good value" or good looking. All this being said, I feel Kel-Tec makes decent firearms, but I would not buy another for SD. I will look at the pmr-30 when it's available as it looks like a fun gun to have, but I'll keep my Glock's and S&W's for SD. ;)

This is going to sound kinda funny maybe. But I found myself thinking, if I ever had to use a gun to defend my life I'd kinda regret it if it weren't one of my more premium handguns (glock, sig, s&w, h&k, etc.).

Does that sound silly?

BTW I voted reliable but not my first choice.

In my limited experience with a P3AT - I had a terrible time with it and sent it back for repairs. They replaced the lemon. Since then my replacement has been okay. I would only carry it if NOTHING else was available or as a deep concealment BUG. 50/50 whether it would work. Accurate little guy though.

Disappointed their RFB isn't out yet. :(

I have a P-32 and a PF-9, both have been perfect out of the box. Both have been built within the last year. They each have about 300 rounds through them. I wasn't expecting a S&W trigger so I am not disappointed. People kill me when they pay $275 for a pocket gun and say what a terrible trigger. :cuss:

I have the PF9 and love it. Contrary to what a lot are saying on here, the trigger is fantastic compared to the DA triggers on any of my other guns. The PF9 is small, thin, light, and has a lot of snap due to these characteristics. It's small enough to pocket carry if you have large pockets. I really like mine...

I've been carrying my P3AT for a year now and have sent a few hundred rounds through it at the range with no issues. I've shot all kinds of brands and never had a problem. It's light weight and easy to conceal.

My only issue is it sometimes FTF on the first round I (try to) chamber. That's more to do with me not being aggressive (snappy, quick,??) enough when pulling and releasing the slide. I was in a situation where I wanted/needed to chamber a round and it hung up! I now carry with one in the chamber and am completely at ease doing so.

I love the trigger also. If you want to complain about triggers, shoot my Sigma 9!!

A Kel-Tec P3AT has been my EDC/BUG for the past 18 months. I carry at 4 or 8oc position on a IWB clip draw. The gun has about 300 round through it, never a malfunction. Gold Dots didn't like to chamber the first rounds without a quick rack, but I recently polished the ramp and need to re-test. Trust it with my life...? With 0/300, absolutely.

Was it with all ammo? Even ball? Or just HP's?

I use to have a P-11 and a PF-9. They were both reliable and performed well for what they are.

I currently have one of the Kel-tec sub-2000 9mm rifles that use glock 17 magazines. I really like the rifle. It is accurate enough out to 100-150 yards. I have only had 3 FTE's during the first 200 rounds but haven't had any since. Very fun little toy and a good addition to my G17. I am looking forward to reloading for it.
