What have you done in the reloading room today

What brand of annealer is that? '
If a dog ran off with it and buried it, what would you buy tomorrow?
How much gas does 500 use?
Burstfire. Around $310 delivered with their case prep tool set.
I've no experience with any others and know how to run this one, so probably just replace it.
Not much. New 1# cylinder seemed pretty much the same. Runs on a pretty low torch flame. If I get bored I'll weigh the can and let you know.

Miserable weather today so threw another log in the woodstove and put some classic rock on the Bose and sat down at the bench. Loaded 139 158gr Xtreme RNFP over 4.4gr HP-38 w/Winn SPP.. Took a few breaks to do a few sets of push ups and some dumbbell work to break the monotony and get the blood flowing. I find it helps keep me alert during long sessions and at 73 yrs young it's "use it or loose it" time.View attachment 1186998View attachment 1187004
I'm just getting ready to do a batch of 38 Spcl using the identical components as you. Looks like you're loading for +P, though. My (current) plan is to go 3.5 Gr with 158 LRN cast and 4.1 Gr with the 158 X-treme plated. Still have 17K Win SPP, so will be using them.

Loaded 83 223 with 24.0 grains of tac, 69 rmr at 2.260, no crimp. Found some more Hornaday during yesterday's range trip. Never end up with an even number of cases 🤣

Started on my 200 rds. 30 Carbine of new Starline brass. Ran them through my RCBS Vibrator to clean anything they might have added when making the Cases, Deburred and Chamfered, Sized and belled, now I am ready to install Rifle Mag Primers for my Ruger Blackhawk and then load them for the Blackhawk only, not for my M1 AO Carbine rifle.

I realized, after round two of gifts yesterday, that I forgot to crimp the stuff I loaded up for my brother. So I set up (again) at my temporary location, my mom’s kitchen table, using a 2x6, 2 of my Dads (awful) bar clamps and got them crimped. @GeoDudeFlorida would have loved the earlier set up on a Chair. (Not a stool, but almost)

Unloaded my muzzleloader (after hunting the morning) at the range. My bro wanted to shoot it, and, by George, he gave himself a case of “scope eye”. ReWeighed the rest of my charges before adding them back to the 209 bottle to verify my scale again. It works, BUT, I sure prefer my “big” one!

Picked up a bunch of brass off the ground. Mostly 223/5.56, so that’s headed for the wet tumbler. Packed up the “Bench in a Box” to head back home…

Yesterday I wet tumbled ~800 9mm and dried 'em.
5 hours, I shoulda taken a picture cuz they were SHINY!
Have yet to sort by headstamp.

Field stripped and cleaned my brand new Colt Elite in 10mm a bit ago.
Had to turn in my "Man-Card" as there were two recoil springs which made me go to the owner's manual.

Ordered 3K of large pistol primers.
Have 1000 pieces of new *-* (Starline) sized, and powder.

Just have to decide on what bullets I am going to use.

Gratuitous picture...

Hammer of Thor.

Weather too bad through the holidays and near future to shoot. Reloading caught up for now. Hopefully the weather will break soon. Did some reorganization of the reloading equipment today. Dillon 550 is in danger of getting a thorough cleaning and lubrication tomorrow. Tempted sometimes to reload ahead but have learned better. Once my minimum is met I stop until I shoot some of them up.

Loaded up 50 .38Spl w/ 5.8gr, 6.2gr and 6.6 gr Silhouette and the 110gr Winchester HE, CCI 500, WIN brass. I’m thinking tomorrow will be a good day for shooting.

Edited to correct typos.

I loaded 50 .308 rounds while the press was set up. I’m not 100% sure their purpose but going NA hand tight for now and try loading some. 30-30.

I have a box of 100 170 gr Sierras. I will set up and load 10 at a couple different powder weights in the lower end of the scale. We will see how they shoot.

Looking for suggestions on a decent priced .308 bullet for loading a few hundred rounds. I would like something in the 165-170 range, probably a FMJ?

Thanks!

My wife left to run errands for the entire day, so I decided to make it a reloading day for me. I ended up processing 300 10mm range pickup cases. Mostly mine, but not all. It's always great when you can recover more brass than you expend.

In addition to priming those 300 10mm cases, I also loaded 100 rounds of my favorite .45 Auto target load (200 gr. SWC over 4.0 gr. Clays).

I beg forgiveness from those of you with progressives--I only have an old cast iron "JR2" RCBS single stage press, so things go slowly for me. I'm good with that though. I don't shoot nearly as much as some of you guys.

Next up will be some hotter .45 Auto with 230 grain XTPs over a +P charge of BE-86.

Powder Valley has Sierra Tipped Gameking bullets for about 50 cents a piece right now. Graf and Sons lists 170gr FMJ Lapua bullets but they are 55 cents a piece so if you have a specific need for FMJ only I guess that's really the only option I know of.

That’s a decent way to bring in the New Year…shooting. Heard folks driving around beltway last night doing same thing:)

I have my Dad’s old S&W revolver. I don’t reload for it but every time one of you guys mention it, I’m thinking I should.

Oh yeah.

Dillion supposedly will refurbish your press for free I think. Just have to pay for shipping at least one way probably.
I received an old SDB from a friend that moved away. It had a clicking sound when you pulled the handle down. I decided to send it in to Dillon for a check up since it was so old. They sent me a new press back within a week to 10 days. "Dillon" love their no BS warranty!

This morning I dumped out the tub of 2023 range brass and sorted it into groups that will tumble together. I looked through any partial cans of brass in my stash that might need to be tumbled trying to make a full load for when I start tumbling. Probably Wednesday, but soon.

What do you mean 2023? All of last year’s brass?

I need a barrel. 🤣🤣

I have not quite done this "in the reloading room" yet - I have ordered a new set of dies for 45 ACP loading: Redding # 66189 - for the reloading room. I do like these dies (I have them in 44Mag and 357Mag) - especially the case expander/flaring die. I need to start reloading and shooting more 45 ACP. Maybe these dies will help with that, maybe they won't. All good :)

Did some brass prep while watching college football on new years eve.

Wet tumbled a mix of:
320pc - 300 BLK cases
120pc - 308 WIN cases
100pc - 7.62x39 cases

Sized all the 300 BLK cases, all the x39 cases and 30 of the 308 WIN

Finished trimming the .223 cases I started the other day, then pulled out more .223 and some .300 BLK brass. Now that I finally bought some .300 BLK does, I can start working on a sub load with Berry's plated 220 gr

Went by Wally World on the way home and found this!!!!

So based on the introduction to Ramshot Grand, it seems like it's literally StaBall HD in a different bottle? Hmmm I'll have to do some research into it.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it was it is the one thing they do that I am not fond of but on the other hand it sometimes works to my advantage.
