cgraham: Other officer was not carrying, was not in uniform or on duty. If had been in uniform the Tazer would have solved this one easily.
Your comment that the suspect wasn't afraid of getting shot is dead on the head. A lot of folks seem to know that LEO's are very reluctant to pull the trigger (possibly pass the point of common sense). It's why the respect our Tazers way more, they feel we'll Taze them for the least provaction, where they fell they basically can shoot first to get shot at.
Rattlesnake: Yeah had a variant of that too. Double tap took care of the knife wielder. My instructor wanted to know why I bothered to tell him stop before I shot. I think that's what got to me the most. I know exactly how deadly that could have been, and my response to it was based on a lot more then just what I know.
