My number 1
I am a 40 man myself. I carry a Sig 225 and have a glock 22 both in 40. I feel that the performance is better than a 9 and I have less kick than a 45.
40s&w = maim
45acp = kill
Its quite powerful but not too much to control. Easy to reload too
.45 because of self defense, .357 because it's a great, all-around, easy to pack cartridge for protection/hunting in the woods - 2-legged and 4-legged, and .44 mag for real hunting.
I also like .22
I guess my favorite color is "plaid".
Revolver: .357 Magnum
At least with the .380, I can hit them. I can't do that with a heavier caliber. (old injry to my arm.)
.45 Colt Ruger Bisley.
SAA's in 44-40 but the N frame is just too big
44 special in SAA's and DA revolvers for carry
anyways, for actual self defense use, whatever I have on me to defend me with!
Standard velocity will work wonders on just about anything. Put it into a ruger frame and let the fun begin.
That would be my Sig P229/40 or my 9mm.. both P229's just seem to be the most natural, accurate, shooters in my small herd..
My SA EMP 9mm is in a, solid, Second place..
2 - .22 LR - a 617 6" Bbl. 10 shooter for DA practice/warm up as
well as plinking, and just FUN. oh, and economic
3 - 9MM Parabellum / 9x19 or popularly 9mm Luger
in a CZ 75B
4 - .38 Special +P in my MOdel 60 3" bbl. .357 Mag
In Order, not counting rimfire
9x19mm, .45 Colt, .45 ACP, 10mm auto, .45 Super, .38 SPL, .454 Casull, .357 mag, 9x23mm Win
