I thought Desert Eagle came in 357mag ,44mag and 50 , ?Never seen a Contender or Desert Eagle???
"Pistol" is a term much older than automatics and Sam Colt marketed his lovelies as "revolving pistols".

Time for a Venn diagram?Pistols are handguns. Semi-automatics and revolvers are both pistols.
Yes, indeed! Sam Colt patented revolving pistols. In Texas, where Colt revolving pistols played such a large role in our history, we have not forgotten, and often one still hears "pistol" in reference to revolvers.Pistols are handguns. Semi-automatics and revolvers are both pistols.
Here in CA, I carry a G30 (.45acp) - and it holds same number of cartridges as a G17.....9mm. 45acp is bigger and i know people love to debate 9mm vs 45acp but i can have 20 rounds of 9mm in a glock 17 that is the same size as a 1911 with an 8 round mag.
