which handguns shoot most accuratly for you?

The most accurate pistol I’ve ever shot was a SW 1911. I was knocking down pins at 45 yards.

Of the ones I own, my Glock 19, bit only a little more so than my Shield 9.

Some of you might think I'm full of schit,,,,but this is a 8" steel plate that I hit with my .454 Taurus Raging Bull at 165 yards while resting on a sand bag. I have killed plenty of hogs at 100 yards with it.

(The dark spot is the 454, the others are from a 270 and a 30-06)

Definitely my EAA witness pistols (both full size and compact all steel wonderfinish 10mm but now with 40 barrels). Almost no effort, just point and shoot with these. My shield isn't too far behind.

I believe it 100%. I shoot steel with my 357 max contender at 200 yards all the time, and the accuracy potential of a revolver isn't far behind a contender.

It wasn't even the most comfortable, but the S&W 586 I had was by far the most accurate I owned. I place that down to the wonderful trigger and sights.
My CZ PCR was the most consistent. I shot it better than most others with careful aim, aside from my Ruger MKII 22/45, but fast 'reaction shots' were tighter than any other pistol I had. I attribute it to the absolutely delightful grips.
My current CCW, a Ruger SR9c, is comparable but not as comfortable.

My best 5 shot group at 25 yards, over sandbags, was 1.25 inches with an old model Ruger Blackhawk .357, 6.5" barrel. That was years ago and I never came close to that again. My lightly customized Springfield 1911 is very accurate, but I used it mostly in run and gun games.

Most accurate of my handguns:

1) Hammerli Trailside
2) Beretta Model 70S
3) Ruger Mk.II
4) Browning Hi-Power
5) Colt Combat Commander (from Colt's Custom Gun Shop)
6) S&W Model 686
7) Ruger Vaquero

Most accurately, as far as one ragged hole? Some of my M1911's. Most accurate, as in most lead on target as quickly as possible? Glock 17/19/34.

<Joe Peschi voice> Accurate how? </Joe Peschi voice> I'd have to agree with FL-NC on this; slow accuracy, 1911. Practical accuracy, Glocks. Oddly enough,I do not own a Glock, though a G19 may be in my future.
Honorable mentions; Python, S&W M65, Hi-Power, and the most accurate .380 I've ever shot, a CZ24.

S&W model 17. I score well with it at the 50 yard line, but my club only allows seated on a rest at the 50 yard position for long and certain handguns.
When I started shooting the 17 one day a RSO stopped me until I handed him my binoculars, I think I made a good impression on him because he said to keep going.
Most of the other handguns on the line were centerfire with scopes. My 17 has the S&W factory target sights if was made with in 1959.

Lol, yeah I was shooting my SP101 at 50 yards rested at an indoor range which raised quite a bit of curiosity from the range office when he walked by and saw that, until I brought the target back to show that not only can I hit the paper, but I was in fact shooting a specific target on the paper.

I'm pretty good with most handguns when I bare down. The 629 classic is no slouch.

I want to think I shoot more accurately with a revolver but I doubt that is true. Last Saturday I borrowed a friend's SWv9 whatever and did well at a 100 yard gong.

For me I guess it comes down to which ones have the best trigger that I shoot:

Ruger mkIII.. lots of tinkering but worth it.
SW 629... DANG that's a good trigger.
SW 10-6.... good stuff right there
SW 10-5... impressive
GP100... Yes Virginia, ruger can make a good trigger if they want to.

All but the mkIII are factory triggers.

I had forgotten about my old Witness full-size .45. It was the most accurate handgun I'de ever owned- until it got stolen. Agreed, like a frakkin' laser! :)

My best hitting gun is my smith Wesson k.32 masterpiece and I have over 50 others to choose from.

Number 1 would be any of my T/C pistol/barrel combo with scopes, 2 would be my DW 357 Max with the scoped barrel; can ring the gong at 200 yds consistently, but can get 4 out of 6 on gong with the open 6" barrel on it too, 3 would also be a Single Six with a scope, bought it used with a scope already on it, was going to take it off, but while waiting for the replacement rear sight, decided to shoot it, that was 6 yrs ago, scope's still on it, hit everything I pointed it at including 12 Ga spent shells at about 7 yds.

Hi...
With a large selection of handguns to choose from, it is a bit difficult to decide which I shoot most accurately.
However, I always get excellent accuracy from my Dan Wesson.44Mag and.22LR, S&W 686 Silhouette model and a couple of long barreled .357 BlackHawks.
My SBH Hunter in .45Colt is very accurate as well.
To be truthful, most of my handguns are pretty accurate if I do my part, but those I mentioned are the first to come to mind.

I totally forgot about it in listing my two but I have a Ruger MK IV Target that will hang right with the two I posted.

Back in the days before the EPA I found a place where someone had dumped a bunch of empty 55 gallon barrels in a draw. About 400 yards up the hill was a place to park and I would sit down and prop my elbows on my knees and shoot barrels with my Ruger Super Blackhawk. It would take a couple of shots to walk my shots onto the barrel I had selected and then I could do around 80% hits. The barrels are long gone and my skills have deminished to where I wouldn't waste the ammo today.

If I really want to hit something at distance my S&W Mod 19 or Ruger standard model. I love running the plates with the Glock17L.....it is quite shootable but it isn't actually wondrously accurate. My best shooting 9 group-wise is an Astra A100.
