For my next firearm I'm looking around at smallbore rifles to shoot some paper and maybe some varmints here in Kansas.
I also just wanted to say 'hi' as this is my first post. There are some really interesting threads on here.
Side note: I just convinced my grandmother to let me dust off my late grandfather's rifles and put them to a little use, keeping them in the family, of course, and making sure they stay in decent shape. I haven't seen them since 2004, but I know that he took good care of them. I know, however, come Thanksgiving she's bringing me two Winchesters; a .243 and a .223. Both are good for this purpose, especially the latter (economically), but I was just curious to know what everyones' favorite long-ish range target rifles were.
P.S. She's also bringing a Belgian Browning Auto 5, a Marlin .444 Lever-Action, and a Ruger Redhawk. I love that sweet old woman...
