Hello everybody,
Here's a good topic: what is your favorite rifle that you have owned and why?

Mine would be my .22 henry lever action. It's cheap, easy and fun to shoot, and accurate enough to terrorize the local squirrel population. I love the slick action and decent capacity also.

your turn, now play nice!

I have to say it's this MK14 SEI EBR

My favorite has to be my CAR 15 . Non gun people always ask if it is A real gun. no tactical gizmos just A nice liteweight AR.:)

My single-shot Stevens .22. The rifle I learned to shoot with. My trusted companion in the field for almost 30 years.

Easy, the first one I bought for myself as an adult.
  • Ruger M77 Mark II .270 (sorry no picture)
    Walnut/Blued topped with a Leupold

P.S.
A little description/definition would be nice to go along with your pictures.

M-16A2 and AR-15A2. Lugged one all over the place and learned basic rifle marksmanship on it in the military and have lots of good memories attached to it. Was my first "big boy" rifle when I got out of the service. Every time I pick one up or fire it, I get a smile and it always feels just as it should.

May not be the end all be all, but it's a familiar friend to me. Even other AR's just feel a little strange.

One of the great battle rifles - mine is a 1952 Springfield Garand:

Like my children - which ever one I am looking at at the moment.
Big +1 on that! I have too many favorites ...

Favorite rimfire: Remington 541T
Favorite target rifle: accurized Remington 700 VSSF in .308
Favorite deer rifle: Remington Model 7 in .308

... you get the idea.

Ruger M77 in .257 Roberts.

Made in 1989, I picked it up on the cheap in Jan, 2004. Had been used so little there weren't even any scatched in the bluing under the slide safety - something I fixed pretty quickly.

My Marlin 336 my dad gave it to me and his dads dad to him. I shot my first deer with it.

I dont really have one. My beat to crap 9mm RRA and my rimfire AR get the most rangetime though. Haven't put a lot of wear on my .223 AR. I miss the days of cheap ammo. I'd go through a few hundred rounds of .223 in a day because I was bored. Now 9mm cost more than the .223 I got a few years ago.

I cant say its a favorite, but my weird looking 16" bbled semi-auto thompson always gathers a crowd at the range. I need to SBR it, I've had it for years and the 16" bbl still looks weird.

All of my rifles are my favorite rifles!

However I am very partial to my newest one MSAR stg.556, up until this one I would say hands down my M1a Scout Squad. It's still a close call either way between the two.
