Thanks everyone, Yes your right it is a 75 brain fade on my part. I love shooting that old 513 it's alot more accurate then i am with my old eyes. picked it up 20 years ago used and it just grew on me.

Is there anywhere else I can download and print these targets?
For some reason I cant open the Nosler targets.
I can open and print the 4 position targets. Just checking, is it suppose to fill the whole page or only about less than 1/3 ?
Thanks

If someone who knows how to convert .pdf files to .jpgs can do that for the nosler target, please do.
The 4-pos targets should fill the whole page, make sure your printer settings are correctly set.

Thanks!
I got them printed and will head to the range as soon as it stops raining.
Thaks again

Here's a 53 I shot a couple of weeks ago. I thought I might be able to get out again to try to better this one, but we're running out of August!

I think this ties one of Bill B's. He shot his first, so the tie probably goes to him.

Good shooting, folks! ;)

CZ 452, Weaver 3-9 scope
Fed 510 ammo
50 yds, sandbags on a bench
85 degrees, wind 5-12 from 12 o'clock

Hope you get the chance to get out there and do some shootin P51D, I don't have any 22's with scopes on them at the moment but if i can find the time this weekend between reloading for next weekends Cowboy Shoot, maybe i'll pop a scope on my 10/22 and see what she'll do.

OK Guys just got back from the range.
Mossberg 44, bolt action
72 degress, windy
Standard velocity Aquila ammo
8/29/09
I'll let someone score this for me.
First target was shot with rifle forearm supported on bench at 25 yds ,iron sights
info038.gif
Next target was shot at 25 yds in all 4 positions, iron sights
Range is outside and unprotected and was windy today, made it tough to do position shooting

I am glad I found this thread. It made me get out the ole 22 again.
Lets keep this going and do it again next month
Maybe find some targets for 50 yds iron sights
Maybe we can get more people involved

Its not only the ammo but the rifles they are shooting

I set some targets out at 50 and best I could get were these
One darn flyer killed me!

Orlando, I score the standard target as 63, and the 4-pos target as 59, does everyone agree?

As to those targets, I have some, and could (if I can get good ammo) shoot them, but does everyone else have acess to them?
I also was thinking, what would you all say to a 100yd group class, just for the heck of it? Be fun IMO. :D

Thanks for scoring the targets for me. Thats what I came up with but wasnt sure.
A 100yd ironsights shoot sounds good to me

Hey guys ,I really enjoyed getting the 22 out again.
Any ideas for next months rimfire match. Lets try and get more guys involved.
I have a idea:
How about having a rimfire shoot where you have to participate in all positions. Prone , sitting, kneeling, standing, we could still have shooting off bench to. Use the same targets you have now but just have to shoot both of them and add up all the scores for a total .
We can keep it at 25 yds for iron sights
The 22 is a great tool for learning the positions (I'm still learning and need alot of help myself)
Bench shooting is OK but you can really get alot of enjoyment shooting other positions

Sound good?

Hi, Orlando. Great shooting!

I prefer the current way of doing things, since prone shooting would be very inconvenient at the range where I shoot. And I think the idea was brought up before, and a couple of folks mentioned some physical disabilities that prevented them from shooting from anything but a bench.

With the current rules and targets, you can take your pick. Bench or position. My vote is to keep the status quo.

I finally got to the range & here are my meager entries.
Both shot with the Erma M1 22 at 25 yds.
Military aperture sights
CCI Std Vel.
Temp 90, wind calm.
Nosler target shot bench rested.
Position target shot with sling support.
I'll entrust someone else to score them.

That's some fine groups! A friend of mine has an Erma Military trainer from 1938. They make a fine shooting .22 from the looks of those groups!

Made it to the range again today and did some better. Wind wasnt blowing like before
If I have scored these wrong someone please speak up
First target off bench with rest on forearm of barrel, stock on shoulder
Score 82
target4044.gif

Second target is 4 positions.
Not sure how we are supposed to score this one . Can someone please score it for me. Thanks

P51D, I never thought about it being hard for some to get into positions
Heres a thought, we could still shoot off the bench but do not use sleds, bags, or rests of any kind.
Put elbows on the bench and buttstock on shoulder, even use a sling if some wanted. Kinda like shooting prone but while sitting at the bench
I just thought if might be fun and at the same time we could all learn some shooting skills instead of a rifle sitting on bags.
Its fine either way just a suggestion.
Anyone have any other ideas to spice it up alittle?
Sure would like to see others try the 4 positions

It appears that Orlando won the overall from the scores posted with an 82. Is the match going to be updated with the total results posted? Do we go on to September match now?:)

P.S. ...........Good shooting with everyone! It's good to get out with the .22's for any reason as they never fail to make even the oldest "Youngster" smile!

I posted a thread for a contest this month. I was asked by gvnwst to take over the contest. I hope that isn't a problem for anyone. Hopefully things will continue being as much fun as they have been. gvnwst has done a nice job running this thing. It's all for fun anyway. We're all just trying to learn to shoot a little better.

Anyway the thread has been posted for the new contest at:
