Hey All,

Well I was in the mood to make a poll for everyone so here we go.

I was thinking, thinking, and thinking some more, which usually gets me in trouble, about all the different 1911 pistols out there and got curious as to who owns which brand. So I went looking through the web trying to find all the different makers out there and came out with these 16 choices. I am sure that I have missed some here and there and really apologize ahead of time.

I CAN ONLY GIVE 16 CHOICES and that is why it's these 16. I am not bias at all in this thread and will not be posting a vote until I own one.

So who owns which brand of 1911???

P.s. Please show pics I know that I would love to see your beautiful 1911's and I am confident others would like to see them too.

None of the above! I own a Argentine Modelo 1927. One of these days I'll pick up a more modern version of the 1911, probably in something less than full size. Until then I have the Modelo 1927.

(I couldn't resist posting something off-list)

I have a Colt (and voted as such). I also have a Llama. Oddly enough, it's an awesome gun. Runs like a champ and is extremely accurate. I can't think of anything bad about it. Pfff.

You should have included Dan Wesson, RIA, and Charles Daly as well. I would be particularly interested in Dan Wesson as I recently purchased a bobtail Commander.

I have only 3 left. I voted Colt was one of them which is only part true. It's a Colt Commander upper (slide, barrel, etc) and a Caspian Titanium officers frame assembled by Caspian. Best carry gun ever. (IMO of course). :D My others are a Stainless SA milspec and a old Thompson AO. The AO is really growing on me. It's reliable and I bet once I replace the bbl bushing, it should get very accurate. Right now the bushing would almost fall out if you shook the pistol just right and it still gets pretty good groups. I don't have any glamour shots but here's some 45 porn for you.

I put a caspian trik trigger and a brown chainlink flat MSH on that bad boy since this pic.

What is the "J.M. Browning" model referred to? I voted Colt but I also have RIA and Norinco.

Own a Taurus PT1911 (and voted so), but it is having some custom work done at the moment; as soon as brownell's sends the proper front sight blade (received a pin instead of the requested dovetail), will post a pic

I marked Taurus. It is the 1911 that I could afford other than an RIA and I like the feel. And as soon as I can afford another 1911 I will be buying another one most likely a 3 or 4 inch model.

Here is the pic

i own sa, and plan to have more in the future.

the only other makes that i would have would be a para, or a custom job like nighthawk, or a rra.

The next time someone posts about how their "1911" is junk and won't work, I'm going to link to this thread showing the bazillion different manufacturers there are of "1911s." It's a testament to the 1911 design that there are as many working guns in the hands of shooters as there are with all the crap manufacturers out there.

Kimber x3
ParaOrdnance (POS)
Springfield Armory (POS)
Colt
Wilson Combat (best of the lot)

Where is Ithica, Remington, Remington Rand and the original Springfield?
