I thank everyone for there introductions. But special thanks to DAdams and fiVe, for starting the clubs. I have enjoyed many hours of reading between the 642 and 340 club theads. We get a lot of sit down time where I work, many pass the time by reading news papers or books, I get on line with my smart phone and enjoy the HIGHROAD.

My birthday is coming up this weekend and I gave up smoking almost a year ago. So to pat myself on the back I am jointing the club with a new 442. Put it on lay away last week, and picking it up next week. Looks like a great little gun. Cant wait to start shooting.

Congrats on kicking the smokes. Take heart if TEOTWS commences you can always take it back up. Until then you are now in control not the substance.
If you were a pack a day smoker next year you can easily justify the price of a 340 or 340PD and a new Mika to accompany it.
Stay strong. You are going feel a whole lot healthier..and the best thing...you will be around to bother your loved ones.

Without going back and reading through these pages and pages, can someone tell me exactly if such a gun exists called a 442-3 or 642-3? If so, what is the difference between the -3 and the -1 and -2?

The 642 and 442 are both available with and without the internal lock.
The current dash two line up will shoot both .38 spl and plus p rounds.

Still SGDFSB plus p 135 for me and my 340. My Wife's 642 has the BB Standard Pressure 158 gr 20C soft cast.

Probably means Speer gold dot for short barrel or something like that.
I've never seen the acronym SGDFSB before. It if is intended to mean speer gold dot for short barrel, I suggest just saying Speer or Gold Dot. Making up acronyms that don't accomplish anything beyond creating confusion isn't really beneficial.

The acronym has been around since early 2011 according to a recent Google search.

SGDFSB. If you do a Google search it will yield the third and about 10th and 13th items in the search referring to Speer Gold Dot For Short Barrel.
We have used this acronym since 642 Part One IIRC.
How about this? SGDFSBJHP+P135
PN29321. SGDFSB is much more descriptive than Speer or Gold Dot as there are non FSB rounds from Speer.
The box is very specific "for short barrel".

SGDFSB is just plain silly...especially since:
There is no .38spl Speer Gold Dot round that isn't for short barrels (even the 50 round LE marked boxes are the same round and are 'for short barrels'
There are Speer Gold Dots for short barrels in multiple other calibers, so "SGDFSB" doesn't even tell you what caliber it is, for sure.
Seriously...what's more efficient...an acronym virtually nobody has ever heard of that requires Google for verification or just writing out what the round is?

i would like submit my application to the x42 club! i picked up a no lock 442 two days ago, put 50 rounds through it and love it. i go a week from today to take my concealed carry class, it's going to be along couple of months til i can drop the 442 in my pocket and go, but it'll be worth it. i have a ruger sr9c, and while it is small enough it is heavy, and the 442 just fit what i was looking for. pictures to come soon.
