7.62x25 conversions?

I was just curious as to the gun's C&R status. I mean I know I can buy an SKS (for example) and swap out the stock, or something minor like that. But to do a swap to another caliber? I wonder how the regs treat that.

that 7.62x25mm is a very,bad round compared to that 9x19mm round, palin and simple as that, not to be a smart a^&, but just had to say that, hope you do not mind.

That's what I'm going to do. Once I make sure the gun runs OK. I stupidly bought 223 here and there when I first put this thing together back in '87. Now I wish I had stocked up.
