I’m putting a new stock on my Howa 308. I’ve narrowed it down to 2 choices. 2774CD20-6690-43A8-BE89-F5180B2482EA.png This one is called pepper.

Im a visual person, and I wondered if anyone had either of these on something and would be willing to share a photo so I can get a better idea what it looks like.

upload_2023-2-4_10-16-21.jpeg I have a different variety of Boyd’s stock in pepper laminate on a Savage 11….

I am very happy with it.

The forest camo would have been my second choice, so I think you’ll be pleased with either.

I have them in coyote and forest camo (though not sure that’s what Boyd’s calls it). They’re both nice. The pepper/grey is fine but just seems more boring than understated.

Don't care for the gray/black. Do like the nutmeg or forest camo. Still wishing somebody would do an all dark brown laminate.
Someone did something like that.......stockys maybe? Wasnt quite dark brown/dark brown, but it was brown on brown and general darker color.

Ive mostly had the garish colors of stocks....cause hey why not.....and ive had quite a few.
If you LIKE colors go with the Forest Camo, if you prefer sedate Pepper. Something a little more traditional? Nutmeg....with zest Coyote.
Daughter likes Applejack....but you think its kinda loud, check out Maroon.

heres a few of the color, pepper and forest are both featured a couple times i think.
I have a few more of other colors but ill have to look around for them.

I bought a pepper for my last stock and it was nicer in person than the forest one on my Ruger. Neither is as flashy as the pictures make them look. Half of my buddies hate the forest, and the other half love it. So my small study says the forest colors evoke a more emotional response. I like the coyote, but like CraigC, I'd like to see a really dark brown laminate.

Of the two, I like Pepper better than the camo, but I tend to get more colorful options when I buy Boyds stocks. My “basic” color Boyds’ favorite colors are coyote and nutmeg, but I most often pick one of the more bold colors. I’ve never been a fan of the camo, not quite sure what it is, I think mostly the baby diarrhea color of the yellow/tan, but I’m not a fan. Pepper can look cool, and most of the time, I think it DOES look cool, but part of me always associates a black stock back to cheap polymer stocks, so it’s not my favorite look. But Pepper does have more of an OEM vibe than most other colors (besides nutmeg), and has that sleek, sleeper groove, so again, between camo and Pepper, I’m 100% Team Pepper.

Here is the brown laminate stock that came on my Savage MkII BTVLSS. Boyds makes the laminate stocks that Savage uses on their rifles. The rifle in the picture is actually my older pre E-Receiver Savage Mkii GLV in 17m2 when I test fitted the E-Receiver stock on it.

Some of the Rimfire action Boyd’s I had laying around a few years ago when someone asked about weight between various options.

I went to an orange and black high school and a purple and white college, so I have several purple laminate and orange laminate stocks. I also have always liked red and black, so I have a couple red and black laminates as well. I think we have two nutmegs currently, both are my wife’s rifles, and she has a coyote laminate stock on one of her hunting rifles which I used temporarily on MY version a few years ago before my stock came in.

I have a Applejack stock on my FrankenRuger (10/22) build, Forest Camo on a Savage Axis .308, Pepper on a Win. M100 .308, plain walnut on a Savage Axis II .223 Rem. They all look good IMHO. Variety is the spice of life!

I want to get one of their stocks for my CZ452 Trainer but can’t see that they make one.

Thanks everyone for your help so far. I am planning a walnut one on another project coming up. But, I’m using this one for a practice run. :) I’m also curious, has anyone used one on there “at one”stocks? The amount of adjustment is what I am really after. Has anyone ever used their different profile grips and forearm bits?
