A friend of mine the other day mentioned that he had told a girl he was seeing that he was a CHL permit holder (I am not sure why or what the whole story is) in any event, the girl said "Good, now I KNOW you are OK." HE kind of didn't know what to make of that, asked what she meant and she said, "Police Back ground checks.... I know you aren't a criminal."

Thought you single dudes would get a kick out of that logic, maybe you can keep that in the arsenal when / if the girl you are dating finds out.

:D

I try to keep it discreet until far past the stage where she knows I'm "OK." I'm happy to talk guns on the first date to find out if she's savvy, and even make that first date a trip to the range, but CCW is something to be discussed a bit further down the road.

I see my CHL as proof that I'm a good citizen - a card that proves I'm not a criminal. That's how many cops around here see it too.

Never let them touch your pistol on a first date!

lol

That good sounds real down to earth. Tell your friend that he might have a keeper there. Girls like that are few and far between nowadays.

All double entendre and innuendo aside, it's probably best to casually bring up guns early on, but not CCW. Then, if she's a raving anti, you can ditch her or try to enlighten her. If things go well after a few dates, you can let her in on your CCW.

keep your pistol primed and your gun hidden. GZ to the friend

My GF decided, on our first date, that she wanted to go to the shooting range, and I would buy the ammo. I did, and I still got the better part of the deal, even though she outshot me. I guess the Army does train them right.

I brought it up to my girlfriend on the second date, not the in the greatest way but still...

me: "So what do you think of people carrying concealed?"
her: "Do you?"
me: "... maybe"
her: "That's hot"

Yeah, i'm keeping her

Ex girlfriend before my wife didn't like it when I carried a gun......fast forward to my wife, she got excited when I told her I had one, said that told her I was a good person and she figured me and her dad would have something in common, this was night before I met her parents......Her parents LOVE me now.

Do remember that having a CHL may make you look like a "white knight" to a girl with a troubled past - you don't want any part of that.
