I finally figured out what people are complaining about regarding the grip angle on my Glocks (points low for me), after shooting of all things a Desert Eagle 50AE for the first time, and worse yet, shooting it better than my Glock 22. I have decided that I want to accquire a gun with a better grip angle and while I am at it a better trigger so DA/SA models only. So far on my list of guns to try there is the SIG P226, CZ 75B, Berreta 92 (which model?), Baby Eagle, and the BHP. Is there any thing I should add to this list?

Just get a HK P2000, it comes with 4 interchangeble backstraps. Just pick the one that fits you best.

The CZ and HP have verysimilar grip angles and are the most natural pointing pistols I have ever fired.

The Kahr guns have a very similar grip to the CZ and BHP if you want a smaller carry gun. You can even get 'em in plastic.

*/ Drooling at the thought of a compact, polymer CZ /* :D

The 1911 suits me the best out of any autoloader I've tried...and I've tried nearly all of them.

If a Glock points low for you (is that correct?) then every gun listed so far will point even lower.

Try the Taurus PT-92 AF , the frame is the same as the beretta but the safety is mounted on the frame instead of the slide so it doesn't operate bass ackwards.

If you're partial to polymer pistols, the grip angle of the XD is very close to that of a 1911. I have held a SWalther P99 and a Taurus 24/7 and don't tell the SWalther owners this, but I couldn't tell a difference in the two.

I also own a CZ75B and it is the only handgun that I have ever picked up off the counter and wanted it immediately just because the grip was just that comfortable.

What I mean to say is that I have to aim high to hit the center of the target. If I hold dead on the bullet hits 1-2.5" low. With the Desert Eagle that I rented and which I have never handled before, I could aim dead on and hit dead on. Hence, the Baby Eagle is the first thing I am going to rent.

I am not partial to polymer, and would prefer to go to a DA/SA trigger so Sig p226 and Beretta 92FS are next after that.

The CZ and the BHP have the best grip angle for me. Now I found the Glock 30 to fit me very well, the Glock 19 does not.

I agree. I had a Glock 17 and had to get rid of it. Switching between the Glock and a Hi-Power and 1911s was difficult, due to the swept back design of the Glocks grip.

To me, the pistols with the best grips are the 1911, the Hi-Power, the CZ-75 and the Springfield XDs.

Worst grips? The Beretta 92s and any Glock 45...you have to have big ol gorilla hands to enjoy those pistols.

So, more correctly, the Glock's point of impact was lower than its point of aim, which is entirely different than "pointing low". Per Ankeny, Glocks tend to "point" higher than most other brands in ppl's hands. Assuming it's not you (no offense), then perhaps you just need a lower front or high rear sight. Point of impact can also be strongly affected by bullet wt. Are you shooting light (e.g. 135 gr) .40 ammo?

Of your alternative choices with which I have experience, I think that the Beretta has an overly long trigger pull. SIGs are good and you have the DAK option. The DA CZ pull is long, but can be pretty smooth. The SA pull on my CZ's has been good. The Baby Eagle is just a CZ with a bad nose job and a paunch, so it operates like the CZ.

Dang...everyone suggests somthing other than what he was considering. Well me to..

GET A BAZOOKA!!!!

Okay really. The Sig 226 is a great gun, accurate as the CZ 75 but a little thicker. The Beretta 92, while a sexy gun, is not as accurate as a CZ 75 OR a Sig 226 and is bigger than both. The CZ would be the hardest to locate a holster for, the Beretta the easiest followed closeley by the Sig.

The Beretta can hold 17+1 and the Sig can hold 17+1. The CZ...16+1.

The Beretta is the easiest to break down and clean only by a VERY slim margin over the Sig 226. The CZ 75 is a lot more like a high power.

The best feeling fullsize 9mm in my hand is a CZ75 or Beretta followed by a hairs breath by the Sig. To be honest the Beretta feels like a second skin to me...and the CZ is pretty DARN close.

Aftermarket goodies? Beretta wins, fancy grips with neked girls on them and all sorts of stuff.

Just plain ol' pleasure to shoot? Well I have to say that making head shots at 75+ feet with a pistol on a blue silouette is pretty dang fun...and the only pistol I can do that with 9 out of 10 times is the CZ.

Price wise, the CZ wins. Quality wise...the Sig, just slightly. We're talking Porche vs. Ferarri here.

Concealment? The CZ 75 hands down IF you have a good strong belt and maybe some suspenders. They're all heavy.

While I am a huge Sig fan and just recently got into the 1911 game, I'd say take a look at the Steyr M-9 or M-40. I bought one from CDNN just because it was cheap, and I really like the grip angle. I've got less than a 1000 rounds through it, so I can't say much about reliability, other than it hasn't had a problem yet. The sights take some getting used to, but they are a lot of fun once you do. It doesn't meet your DA/SA trigger requirement, but it is a much better trigger than the glock (IMHO).
