How many guns do you keep loaded all the time?

nightstand gun, truck gun, carry gun, gun in folding armrest of couch.

Looks like 4

That'd be three, my carry gun, my wife's snubby in the gun vault on the night stand (where my carry gun stays the night), and the 586 in the safe. I keep a loaded mag or two for the AR and buckshot in the side saddle carrier on the riot gun, as well. Just in case.

a Norinco 1911A1 in a GI shoulder holster hanging on my bedroom door
with a loaded magzine [empty chamber]

AK with two fully loaded 75rd drums

The thought occurrs to me

The "all guns are loaded all the time" safety mantra is no longer a safety rule should you happen to grab one of those in a time of need.

:neener:

Ain't much use in a unloaded firearm!!

All Of Them!
Para LDA Companion or LW Officer's for carry.......at home one is by pillow one in 'common' area stashed.
Another Officer in bolt down lock box in trunk of car....
Government model stashed near computer.....
An airwieght Jay frame stashed in robe pocket hung near shower(or trousers pocket depending on time of day)
Have a MechTech CCU to turn one 1911 into a carbine if required(my abode is very small currently).
A real rifle is on the Christmas list! It may not be loaded, but loaded mags will be very handy!
JC45

One. Lately the 4 inch 686 but sometimes the Colt .45 Government Model. I've never even HEARD of a private citizen being invaded to the extent that they needed to resort to one or several back-up guns! Not that it's a bad idea to have a back-up but "7 guns located in strategic positions around the house and 4 tactical knives tied to my pajamas" kinda thing would draw too many giggles from my girlfriend if she didn't just leave or call the nuthouse! :D Some here it seems won't go from the living room to the kitchen to the bathroom without picking up their piece to bring with them! We living in Beruit are we or some "Rambo fantasy?!" Scary. Seriously, what do your spouses say? The real ones, not the imaginary ones! :D

Three are ready to answer the call for duty in this house.

A Sig P225 and Glock G21 both reside in a GunVault next to the bed.
An Ithaca Model 37 with #4, 00, and slugs resides at the other end of the house.

Hmmm, normally my Colt (currently at the 'smith's), 4" kimber, the Polymer stainless (full mag, empty pipe) and the M85UL.

I keep three or four loaded depending on what I've taken to the range lately. I have a Springfield .45 in the nightstand (my carry gun, normally) and a USC nearby. My wife has a S&W J-Frame .38 in her nightstand and a sword nearby (kinda funny, really). I also keep a S&W 686 loaded in my computer room since I'm in there a lot and it's on the opposite side of the house.

The first rule of firearm safety is "all guns are always loaded". But moving from the mindset to the actual, I typically have 5 guns 'loaded" in the house:

1) Gunvault downstairs
2) Gunvault in bedroom
3) AR in BR closet
4) Shotgun in BR closet
5) Carry gun (usually stored in safe or a gunvault)

The pistols in the gunvault may vary (P7, 1911, S&W65) but whatever it is the gun is "hot" - i.e., a round in the chamber, cocked and locked if applicable.

The rifle and the shotgun are stored with magazines charged but with empty chambers, hammer down.

I have five defensive placements in my house, I live alone, no kids or mate.
beretta 92 in shop desk
witness .45 behind tapestry in bedroom
keltec 9mm on the side of this desk
keltec .32 over door to garage/shop
beretta .32 in bookshelf at end of couch
Guns in safe are loaded, except ak and sks, mags stick out too far, loaded mags for each are on shelf in safe.

I have no reason to expect trouble. I have no reason to expect car trouble either, but I carry a spare and jumpers and toolbox there too:)

none. it is illegal to store a loaded and unlocked handgun. m glock 19 can be loaded quickly but a quick access gun vault is in the works.

You know, I should probably keep mine loaded. I keep ammo sitting next to it, but it doesnt do any good should the unlikely assailant barge in.

One reason I fear it being loaded is not me, but my dad going in there and messing with them.:uhoh: :scrutiny: He has told me more than once that he will go in my room and check my guns. Even though I have convinced him that "an unloaded gun is no different from a club.":banghead:

None -- it's illegal to have them loaded in my house -- they have to be dismantled and locked in a safe. In fact it's illegal to even store ammo with them unless in a separate locked compartment inside the safe.
