I named my very first CZ "Silvia" after the only Czech I knew of. Two dozen CZ's later and it's still the only one with a name.
Do any of you name your guns?
Do any of you name your guns?
I've never named a gun for the same reason I've never named a cup, because it is an inanimate object.
The manufacturer will give your gun a name for you, it is called a model number.![/B]
I think giving assigning human traits to an inanimate object is ridiculous. Naming any other object is considered stupid but cars and guns are okay?Inanimate objects can have quirks that differentiate itself from similar items. A 1911 with an idiot mark could says something even though it lacks the ability to speak. And some guns are finicky, others are utterly reliable. These are human traits we assign to them. And again I believe that part of getting to know each gun you own by identifying ammo likes and dislikes, and situational tendencies are part of building a kind of relationship. I don't see why naming something that lacks a pulse is too far fetched.
